Emre Can Could Be The Key To Europa League Glory
Liverpool have been handed a boost with the news that Emre Can is back in training and in contention for a start on Thursday against Villarreal.
The news is a welcome surprise considering that the German’s season looked to be over after he picked up an injury in Liverpool’s epic 4-3 quarter final win over Borussia Dortmund.
Can gives so much to Liverpool’s midfield, his size and physique gives their engine room strength and power and he has become a regular starter in Klopp’s midfield this season, producing some impressive performances along the way.
Thursday’s game is massive because it is Liverpool’s last hope of clinching a Champions League spot, if they can go on and win the Europa League.
Villarreal will provide a stern test for Liverpool on Thursday because they don’t concede many goals and are a dangerous threat on the break.
Liverpool’s injury list has made things much more difficult for Klopp this season and with Jordan Henderson and Can injured they haven’t looked as strong in midfield.
So Can’s return could be vital to Liverpool’s chances of progressing to the Europa League final and it will be interesting to see if Klopp will risk him.
