Liverpool linked to Premier League winning left-back, 30, in Austrian Press

Liverpool are considering a late offer for Leicester City’s title winning fullback Christian Fuchs by Austrian media outlet Salzburger Nachrichten.

The 30-year-old was a cornerstone of Claudio Ranieri’s side last term, providing defensive solidity at the back. Unlike James Milner and Alberto Moreno, Fuchs is a defender first and an attacker second, with many Liverpool fan crying out for another option with less than 48 hours of the transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp though has so far shown no real sign that he’s going to purchase a replacement or starting left-back, having stopped chasing Leicester’s backup left-back Ben Chilwell when he proved too expensive.

Moreno started the first match of the season but Milner has been used in the next three fixtures. He’s naturally a midfielder obviously, but he’s actually done ok at left-back and has vowed to give his all to the position if it’s where Klopp wants to use him.

For us, it’s crazy that we’re not going to buy a left-back and probably an anchoring midfielder too, but we’re going to trust Klopp’s judgement and support the side regardless, as all fans should.
