Liverpool star ‘available’ for Hollywood call up but hates moment he’d be known for

These Hollywood producers better get a move on with this Jamie Vardy movie otherwise it might well be worth waiting another year or so to see the full extent of Leicester’s collapse.

A relegation scrap for the champions perhaps shouldn’t be as surprising as many have made it out to be given the shock they caused last year.

The proposed movie surrounding the rise of Vardy from being a non-league player to a Premier League title-winner looks set to highlight one moment in particular that Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet is keen to forget.

The England striker’s fierce strike from just outside of the box that saw the ball fly into the Belgian’s top left hand corner lives long in the memory of the Reds shot-stopper. It was a moment that typified Leicester’s form and the undying feeling that a miracle was in progress.

“I must be the only person who does not enjoy seeing that clip over and over again but it was a fantastic goal. I can see why people like watching it,” Mignolet told the Guardian.

“You are always going to wonder what you could have done to prevent it happening.”

“There were a few things I could have changed, beginning with my starting position, but at the same time you have to see the bigger picture. I mean, how many times is he going to do that again? Sometimes you have to give credit to the striker.”

Mignolet also had his say on a possible appearance in the Vardy movie, adding: “I would be available; they can call me if they want to.”

Don’t worry Simon, fans hate watching that goal back as well.

There promises to be a completely contrasting feel to Monday night’s clash at the King Power Stadium to that of last season. The pressure is on those in blue to start a fight-back and deal with the pressure that is on them following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

Let’s hope it’s a man in a red shirt that comes up with a stunner this time.
