Sorry Reds, it’s not Ousmane or either of the Moussas, it’s a lad named Mahmadou whose contract is up this summer!
Mahmadou Dembele, 17, is currently contracted to PSG, but hasn’t extended his deal and is available on a Bosman, although we’d have to pay the French club a compensation fee due to his age.
France Football reckons the Under-18 international could join our Under-23 team next season, where he’d link up with extremely talented youngsters like Ben Woodburn, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Ovie Ejaria.
According to the report though, Arsenal are also keen and could approach Dembele, while PSG still have hopes the starlet will stay with his parent club.
Liverpool are constantly scouring the planet for its most promising kids and our current youth side has bags of potential.
Along with the names mentioned, Rhian Bewster is highly thought of and Conor Masterson has a big future in the game too.
We’ve never seen Dembele (we’re not sure many English journalists have), but France have a habit of churning out exceptional defenders and we’d be delighted if he proved to be one of the next in line.
Let’s see if a deal gets done.
