13-goal LFC striker target has £21.5m release-clause; Klopp willing to activate

One of the many strikers linked to Liverpool this summer is Sampdoria’s Czech talent Patrik Schick, who has a very affordable £21.5m release-clause.

In Serie A this term, the 21-year-old has plundered 13 goals – a fairly decent return for a striker his age.

One of the sources we’d urge you to trust the least in the coming months is Gianluca Di Marzio – the Sky Italia merchant who seemingly shoots from the hip rumour-wise – and only occasionally hits…

He’s claiming Jurgen Klopp is ready to pay Schick’s release-clause, with Liverpool keen to add a centre-forward ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.

Stylistically, Schick is strong, tall and at his very best, reminds us of Robert Lewandowski – although he has plenty of work to get anywhere near that level consistently.

Our thoughts?

We’ll surely only move for Schick if our more exciting targets prove fruitless. He’s not going to improve our starting XI and is actually less promising than Divock Origi in our opinion. A move for Shick will only materialise in August, if at all.
