At the moment, as things stand, Liverpool have a 37.7% chance of drawing either Real Madrid or Juventus in the Champions League Round of 16.
And we have a 62.3% chance of getting either Basel, Bayern, Shakhtar or Porto.

This is according to some nerdy calculations done on Reddit, which we haven’t got the time or inclination to learn about.

Of course, everything is up for change depending on where each team finishes, as with two games to play in the Group Stages, the sides mentioned could drop out of the top two spots and positions could equally switch.
So really, there’s not much worth seeing…
However, with the likes of Real Madrid and Juve looking unlikely to win their groups, there doesn’t seem to be an enormous advantage coming first.
So far that reason, we should just try to qualify as quickly as we can – which will be confirmed by a win against Sevilla next time out.
This will enable us to then analyse what’s going in other groups and pick a team accordingly against Spartak Moscow the following week.
