We’d be slightly more worried by this report if it didn’t come from Don Balon, the notoriously unreliable Spanish outlet, but even a broken clock is right twice a day!
They’re boldly claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo, five-time Ballon d’Or winner and all-time great, has asked Florentino Perez to appoint Jurgen Klopp as Real Madrid manager.
The report suggests Ronaldo is bored of Zinedine Zidane’s boring tactics and wants Klopp, who plays a ferociously exciting brand of football, in charge at the Bernabeu.
It’s completely bizarre to us that Zidane’s job is under pressure despite leading Real to two consecutive Champions League triumphs, in all honesty.
Ronaldo scoffs at Barca’s Coutinho deal
Los Blancos are struggling in La Liga this term, but Ronaldo should perhaps take a look at himself, having only bagged four goals domestically this campaign – despite playing as a centre-forward.
Unlike with Coutinho and Barcelona though, we’re not actually worried that Klopp’s head will be turned.
Liverpool’s manager picked us despite interest from everywhere because he wanted the chance to build a once great club back up again – and two years down the line – we think he’s doing a very good job.
He won’t go anywhere until the job is done.
