If Liverpool lose to AS Roma in the upcoming Champions League semi-finals, we’ll still be guaranteed €66m in revenue.
This is according to the excellent football think-tank Swiss Ramble, who are experts in football finance.

They go on to claim in the thread we’ve embedded that we’ll earn €83m if we go on to win the Champions League, and a figure somewhere in between if we’re losing finalists.

This goes a little way into explaining how key it is that Liverpool are in the Champions League every year.
Interestingly, clubs that finish higher in the Premier League the year before get a slightly higher percentage of the initial TV money for the Group Stages, which we were not previously aware of.
The club is already flush with cash following the monumental Coutinho sale, which will earn us £142m once various incentives are met.
We decided not to replace the Brazilian in the winter, so Jurgen Klopp will have an enormous transfer war-chest with which to strengthen his squad.
We need a keeper to replace Simon Mignolet, two new central midfielders (Naby Keita is already arriving), and a pacy winger to provide backup for Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
