Liverpool move onto new priority after confirming Mo Salah’s five-year deal

Liverpool are aiming to secure the services of their prolific front three as they prepare to mount a Premier League title challenge.

Mohamed Salah became the latest man to commit his future to the club on Monday when he signed a new five-year deal to become one of the Reds’ highest earners.

This followed on from Roberto Firmino’s extension back in April, with the Brazilian and Salah now both contracted until 2023.

Sadio Mane has naturally surfaced as the next in line to be rewarded for his magnificent form and could already have an offer on the table.

The Mirror’s Dave Maddock has indicated that Liverpool have presented a similar five-year deal for the Senegalese forward.

Mane enjoyed his most productive season in 2017/2018, registering 20 goals and eights assists across all competitions.

Between Mane, Firmino and Salah, the three combined for a total of 91 goals and 38 assists to build a glowing reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest attacking forces.

Their 91 goals fell just one short of matching Liverpool’s team total of 92 over the 2016/2017 season, as well as helping the Reds finish as the leading scorers in the Champions League.

Mane himself was particularly outstanding following the turn of the year, flourishing as both a technician and an ever-present threat with his pace in behind following the departure of Philippe Coutinho.

The 26-year-old notched his first hat-trick for the club in the Champions League last 16 first-leg win over Porto, as well as scoring in the final against Real Madrid.

Following his arrival in 2016, he served as arguably the defining glimmer of encouragement on Klopp’s blueprint for high-intensity and explosive attacking football.

A magnificent season on Merseyside has even reportedly fuelled interest from Real Madrid, giving Liverpool good reason to seal his future sooner rather than later.
