Liverpool have ‘particular’ interest in Angolan forward

We’ve never heard of Gelson Dala, but apparently he’s a player on Liverpool’s watch-list!

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, who in fairness, when it comes to transfers involving our club have a horrible hit-rate, we’ve keeping tabs on the 22-year-old for a while.

Dala is Angolan and contracted to Sporting Lisbon, but is currently spending this season on loan at Rio Ave.

The striker tore up trees in the Angolan league which earned him a move to Portugal in 2016, but which prolific at B-Team level, he’s been less potent for first-teams.

To be honest, it doesn’t seem like Dala has anywhere near the levels of talent required to make it at the highest level.

For example, Dominic Solanke is younger than he is, and Divock Origi is only one year older.

These two are decent young forward options behind Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge and we have no need for Dala, especially with Rhian Brewster coming back from injury and hoping for minutes around Christmas time.
