€10m winger chooses Klopp’s Reds over AC Milan

A young talent choosing Liverpool over other European giants?! Surely not…

Under Jurgen Klopp, this has of course become the norm and it seems every time the German targets a player strongly, he eventually signs at Anfield.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato are reporting that Dinamo Zagreb player Dani Olmo wants to join Liverpool, despite strong interest from AC Milan.

They claim Klopp’s Reds are keen on the 20-year-old winger and are not put off by the reasonable €10m asking price.

If it comes down to a shootout between us and the Italians, Olmo has made his choice very clear already.

But who is he? The youngster is actually Spanish and has multiple caps for his country’s youth teams, although Croatia are doing everything they can to get him citizenship. Olmo was part of the Barcelona Academy, but left in 2014 to try his luck in Croatia, where he’s excelled.

So far, Olmo has nine goals in the top flight, capable of playing on either flank in a 4-3-3.

He’s quick, tricky and shoots with power. In the clip below, you’ll see Olmo scoring in a Europa League qualifier last month.

We have no idea if Liverpool’s interest is genuine. We’ve probably scouted Olmo, but is he really any better than Harry Wilson? We’d prefer the Welshman to get a chance if he shines at Derby this season, to be fair.
