It’s fair to say that Krzysztof Piatek has so far taken to Italian football like a duck to water!
He signed for Genoa for just €4m over the summer, but has scored 12 goals in seven games already, eight of which have come in Serie A!
That makes him the highest scoring player in the top five European leagues in terms of league goals and overall tallies.
Piatek is just 23-years-old and the comparisons to Robert Lewandowski, who also came from relative obscurity in the Polish leagues, are obvious.
Liverpool are keeping tabs on Piatek according to a report by CaughtOffside.
They also state that Chelsea are very keen; no surprise considering the struggles of Alvaro Morata – while suggesting Leicester City and Everton are open to a January deal.
Sport have named Barcelona as potential candidates, too.
We’d never heard of Piatek until a few weeks ago, but his form this term has been sensational. He’s a quality finisher and you can learn more about him in the clip below.
Liverpool obviously have Roberto Firmino as our starting centre-forward, with Daniel Sturridge a very capable backup, but Piatek is an interesting option.
Let’s see if he maintains his current level.
