Adam Lewis provided another glimpse of his potential over the weekend as he registered an assist for Liverpool’s U23s.
The left-back has recently been tipped as a possible replacement for Alberto Moreno, who is set to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
Lewis has started the season impressively with Neil Critchley’s side, establishing himself as a prominent figure following his full-time promotion from the U18s during the summer.
His lasting impression has seen him emerge as a leading contender within Liverpool’s youth ranks to earn an early taste of senior football and follow in the footsteps of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 18-year-old supplied another flash of his attacking talent during Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Derby County, setting up Matty Virtue’s opener in an excellent team move.
A marauding Lewis played a sharp one-two with Ben Woodburn before continuing his burst to the byline and crossing low into the path of Virtue for a close-range finish. It marked not only a reminder of his attacking ambition, but also the final-third execution he has so often been praised for during his time at the club.

The teenager has previously been described by former U18s boss Steven Gerrard as the best he has since at his age in terms of his delivery.
His role in Virtue’s goal marked his third assist in nine games across all competitions, following on from the 12 he recorded across 31 outings last season.
He has already shown enough to suggest he can save Liverpool millions of pounds in their search for a long-term successor to Andrew Robertson.
