Klopp “in talks” with Gareth Southgate over game time for two Reds players

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that talks have taken place between himself and England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the international break.

Both Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson have been called up by England; for the former it is not a positive thing, while for the latter it could be.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp said: “Joe has played all the games, so we are not sure. We are in talks about that.

“Hendo, for him, he is 100% fit and needs games as well. That’s cool.

“I can’t make the decisions for the managers of the different countries, though. If they call them up, then they go there.”

It makes perfect sense for Gomez to get a rest – but with England, common sense does not always prevail. Henderson, though, is usually a starter for his country, so it could work in our favour as he builds his fitness after injury.
