Liverpool would be open to selling Dejan Lovren, as long as someone is prepared to pay £30 million for the 29-year-old Croatian, according to Football Insider.

Reports yesterday suggested that sides in Serie A were keeping tabs on Lovren, who is probably no longer first choice when everyone is fit, given how good Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez were together earlier this season.

He’s not always been well-liked at Anfield, but Lovren certainly performed to a very high level last season. The main problem with him has been injuries – as it has with Joel Matip and Gomez.

His injury record, combined with his age, might suggest that the rumours are true and that the Reds could well be open to selling Lovren, though Mo Salah would not be happy to lose his best mate!

A new defender would certainly have to be acquired if Lovren was to move on. Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt would be the dream, but a move to Barcelona is more likely for the 19-year-old at this moment in time.
