Andy Robertson has paid tribute to the support from Reds fans that follows the players wherever they go.
Ahead of the Champions League final against Tottenham, he labelled Reds supporters as ‘the best’, saying that all the players want to do is repay that faith with some silverware.
Via The Express, Robertson said: “The fans since I’ve got here have been different class and I’m sure they’ve been like that for years and years because they’re well renowned to be the best. We need to try to repay them.
“We know how happy that will make them if we can take that final step and go and lift the trophy – it’s what they deserve.”
Robertson could be a crucial man in the final, as he has been all season, not least if Spurs plump for a back three. Not only defensively, but in an attacking sense, he could exploit any gaps that appear out wide and will be vital in keeping the intensity in the game with his supreme energy.
Along with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the other side, the Reds have got the two best full-backs in the Premier League. It would be no surprise if at least one goal was assisted by one of them tonight.
Win the game, and Robertson and all of his teammates will be legends for life. We certainly think they can do it.
