The transfer rumour mill is in full swing! This week, Liverpool have been linked with moves for Timo Werner, Denis Zakaria, Daniele Rugani and now Ferran Torres!
The Spaniard has seen his involvement at Valencia increase moreso over the last couple of years, since breaking through into their first team.
Playing at full back isn’t alien for Torres, but he is typically employed as an attack-minded winger and is more than capable of chipping in with a few goals.
At first glance, his starting position as a winger and tendency to drift makes links to Liverpool understandable given the attacking interchanging Jurgen Klopp’s system thrives on.
He’s now being linked with a move to the Reds by Sport Bild (via Sport Witness) as we’re set to rival Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for his signature.
The same report also adds Barcelona as a potential destination for Torres, and his contract is set to run out in 2021, but a bid of around £20million is believed to be enough to prise the young forward from Valencia.
I’ll be honest, this one doesn’t really line up for me. He could be decent back-up for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but I think this is just a lazy journalist throwing us into the mix to add weight to their piece.
