Former England great Glenn Hoddle believes that nobody is going to be able to catch Liverpool this season, and has tipped the Reds to win the Premier League title.
He cites Anfield as a major influence in that – and has suggested that we’re going to remain unbeaten at our home for the remainder of the season at least.
To be fair, he simply said “again” – as to imply we’ll never lose there again, but I’m not going to suggest he’s going that far. Haha!
“I don’t see anyone catching them,” he said, as posted by Connect Premier League. “I think that Anfield now is a fortress. We talk about fortresses at different clubs, that is a true fortress.
“I don’t know how many games it has been since they lost their? 46! Well, there you go. I cannot see them losing at Anfield again. And if they were going to lose to someone [at Anfield] it was going to be City.”
To be fair, I’d have said the same thing you know. Not to jinx us, but I’d suggest City are the only team capable of beating us at Anfield in the League this season.
We obviously play with a different intensity in other competitions, so I wouldn’t be that shocked if we had a slip up against lesser opposition.
