Jurgen Klopp is still interested in bringing in Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko.

According to the Liverpool Echo, our boss is looking seriously at the player, who is currently on international duty with France at Euro 2016.

Newcastle signed the 26-year-old from Toulouse in 2013, and the player went on to make 132 appearances and score 12 goals in all competitions for the Magpies.

He’s represented France at every level, and at the time of writing, has 40 caps for the senior side.

It’s unclear whether we are looking at the player as a result of the Zielinski deal stalling, or because Klopp still feels he needs further reinforcements in the centre of the park.

At the moment, we have Emre Can, Jordan Henderson, Joe Allen, and Lucas Leiva competing for the two centre midfield berths. Joe Allen looks set to leave the club this summer, and Lucas’ future is also unclear. If they both left, we’d undoubtedly need more cover, even with the arrival of Zielinski.

What do you think of the player? Good signing? Let us know…
