According to the Telegraph, Liverpool are hopeful he will be out for “weeks rather than months” – but the timing could not be worse.
Just two days ago Mamadou Sakho was ruled out with the same injury, while it’s also been confirmed that Tiago Illori will miss the start of the season due to the Olympic Games.

It means Sakho, Gomez, and Ilori are all out of the season opener vs Arsenal, while Skrtel and Toure have left the club. Matip and Lovren are the only two left standing.
