(Image) Proof that Jose Mourinho had no desire to beat Liverpool on Monday

The dust has now firmly settled on the Jose Mourinho bus-parking saga that unfolded at Anfield on Monday.

United, a side that for twenty years were defined by a positive and attacking brand of football under Ferguson, have been reduced to a mere shadow of their former selves by the world’s foremost exponent of boring football.

Of course, it’s no business of ours how Mourinho sets up his teams. But some of the Portuguese manager’s comments in the post-match interviews were absolutely laughable.

“Liverpool had a fantastic defensive performance,” he said. “We wanted to win and we just got a point, so we were not 100% successful.” (Echo)

We’re not sure that even the most diehard United fan would honestly claim that the way he lined up his side was anything short of an attempt not to lose.

And here’s a picture that proves it:

We make that a back six. SIX!

Not since Scotland lined up in a 6-4-0 formation against Spain a few years ago have we seen anything so utterly pathetic!
