Liverpool have offered 23-year-old Bosman contract, after he rejected German deal

Liverpool have made a first approach for summer target Sead Kolasinac, offering the Bosnian left-back a contract, reports German publication Bild.

The 23-year-old’s deal with Schalke expires in the summer, meaning he’s free for foreign clubs to approach with the view of a Bosman free transfer.

Along with ourselves, Manchester City and Arsenal have also approached the defender, who’s one of the Bundesliga’s most solid performers in his position.

Liverpool acquired Joel Matip from Schalke on a free last summer and are clearly buoyed by his success this season.

The Cameroonian is an automatic starter at centre-back and Kolasinac would hope to come in and usurp James Milner on the left.

With his arrival, we’d at least have good competition for the role, although we’d assume Alberto Moreno will depart, having made just two Premier League starts all campaign.

Kolasinac is hard and more defensively sturdy than the Spaniard; exactly what we need in our backline.
