Ryan Babel’s Twitter rant

Posted by

I am not going to comment about any of this but check out what Ryan just said on Twitter.
Comments in red are what fans told him and right below is his response.

Good rainy morning, Melwood now… Training.. Later on the day traveling to Stoke ..

Hey people, I got some disappointing news, I m not travelling 2 Stoke.. The Boss left me out the squad. No explanation..

@virtualaj  @RyanBabel you never played that great against reading could be the reason. show some passion and get you foot in!

to get injured again? Ur crazy

@PaulConUK @RyanBabel words fail me fella, I don’t even think Rafa knows what’s goin on in his head! He says your not for sale but won’t play you :(

yea crazy

RT @ItsMeJoshi: ppl who never played the game shud stop moanin about @RyanBabel tweet. shows he has heart for the game!

What happend after a first good season? Scoring 10 goals, being young talent of the year, and then second and this season don’t play at all?

I can tell everybody, I have never had a argue or a fight with the manager… I always kept quiet… So for me its also a question ..

Where did it go wrong??? .. Well obv you have people who support me and don’t support me.. That’s all good.. I believe in myself..

And one day, you will see what I m capable off, will it be at LFC or somewhere else… I have faith…

And hey, I m not scared to share this with you guys.. Cause its the truth.. And there r no secrets.. !!!

In a football career you have ups and downs… Every player has them..

So the day will come def.. When I will do well everyday… ! So don’t worry.. God is good, yes he is !

  1. Ryan, please leave if you don’t feel well at LFC.
This is not a Red attitude. Stop complaining and train harder – or leave us!

  2. I don’t think I am alone in this thought, so I will speak it: I think Babel looks like he doesn’t care or that he isn’t trying hard. He doesn’t seem lazy, it just seems like he could spend more time working to get in better shape. Having said that, I like him a lot and I hope he gets what he is looking for, whether that is playing time with us, or a transfer to somewhere else.

  3. Wow, that is really frustrating. I was hoping it was some impostor punk. I think it is time for Ryan to go. He is young and has upside and I think Rafa could still get a decent price for him. He is clearly unhappy and doesn’t have the king of attitude that I expect from a Red. If he isn’t gonna work hard and then complain about not playing on twitter(!) then some other club is more then welcome to his “services.” Unfortunate, really. I remember being excited about Ryan awhile back…

  4. Ryan if you not prepared to put in 110% for the good of the Team then I suggest that maybe you should go elsewhere. To be a Liverpool player you should wear your red shirt with pride and passion. This sadly is lacking.

  5. who the hell does he think he is? Airing the clubs dirty laundry like that. On twitter?! He needs to grow some class and follow the tradions of the club that’s paying his wages and keep stuff like that in house. Idiot.

  6. All i can say is try and prove yourself in the next game you do get mate. put in 110% effort for aslong as your on the pitch (weather it be 90 mins or 20 mins. Use that blinding pace of yours beating defenders and do what you do best and score goals! YNWA.

  7. If he can’t even get in the squad when 4-5 players out injured then his time is up.

I think he will be a player but not with Rafa in charge.

    One has to go!

  8. I’m a big fan of Ryans and would love to see him get a good run of games in the first XI.

So what if he had a bad game, so did all the rest!!

How are you supposed to get going if you have a game here and a game there?

I guarantee if he leaves he’ll end up winning the Balon D’Or in the next 3 or 4 years!!

    YNWA

  9. Unfortunately I think mr babel fits into the category of a nice lad u would love to see be great in a red shirt but probably never will be consistently. Can’t help thinking a good run as a forward might have helped him though! He doesn’t seem bitter about it and maybe a move will help him get to the world cup! Good luck mate

  10. dont wana get stuck in incase u get injured. r u a man or a mouse u earn an astronomical amount of money per mnth and ur playing for englands most successful club u should be sweating blood and trying harder because from what ive seen ur just plain lazy and for 11.5m we expect much much more.

  11. If he’s not happy, i think its quite clear thats the attitude of a winner and a person who has a high self concept.

Don’t worry Babel, you’ll seen be the player you see yourself as i can deduce you have high standards.Keep on training hard and put extra hours. Even ask to be involved in the reserve games and raise your game, you never know. You can discover urself in the strangest places mate:)

  12. oh, yeah, Ryan. I’m still waiting! if he#s so good and has so many qualitys than why he doesn’t show them now? I didn’t see them on the pitch. He’s complaining when he’s not playing, but when he’s playing, we don’t get anything to see …

  13. Hey ryan … i know that ur a good talent and gr8 find ..but u have only yourself to blame..because ur attitude of late is a major problem..talent wise no doubt u have potential..bt i think 2 comments of yours says it all..
..U didn’t put ur foot in bcos u fear injury??? baffling ..u shud try golf then..
..u say u wanna find urself somewhere other than LFC also..
All these come down to the fact that..u just wear the red shirt bcos its a formality ..nd not ur heart beats with the KOP..
BBYE c u doing well somewhere else..and for holland..bt leave Liverpool fc for good..

  14. I think there are players in the squad that deserve more of a bashing than Ryan is getting here, the 2 that spring most to my mind play week in week out, but have no place in our team. I would like to see Ryan play more than 1 or 2 games on the run. Mark my words, we will lose Ryan and he will go on to do great things and come back and hurt us.

  15. I thought he did alright on Wednesday all thing’s considered. However pro footballers should not be saying these sort of things online. If he wants a twitter account, fine. Just don’t talk about the club in such a dis-respectful way. He lacks the right attitude and the right mentality. He should be shipped away before the end of Jan before he can cause anymore problems with his online rants.

He seems more interested in making music (as seen by him publicly airing a video stream of himself and two friends in his studio on Thursday night, probably had a late night with little sleep explaining lack of effort in training maybe) than he does playing football.

  16. i like players who speak their mind, i think it’s time to sack rafa , we need more players to stand against him, sell babel he is tired of your shit gaffa, rafa u don’t own this club so it’s time to move on

  17. Ryan Babel Should pack his boots and (Mic) and go he obviously doesn’t have the heart or passion to be a LFC player, Rafa see’s you in training so he doesn’t like the fact you walk around the pitch as if your waiting for a bus. P.s. Good luck getting into Dutch World cup Squad, if Dutch manager is watching he will be very pleased with your display against reading.

  18. It makes me laugh when people bang on about how Ryan is rubbish, doesn’t have any passion blah blah blah. How is he supposed to demonstrate any of that when he’s NOT PLAYING! Surely it’s unfair to judge someone off the back of one game when they’ve only played 2 or 3 times in the season? The guy is a young lad with undoubted talent and abiility but his confidence (and a lot of what makes a player play well is confidence) is at rock bottom and has been for sometime.

We’ve got our three best attacking players out injured at the moment so what does Rafa do? He leaves Babel in Liverpool and bring along Rodriguez (who hasn’t even played a game for us yet) and leaves him on the bench with Aquilani preferring instead to field 6 defenders…WHAT???

What I can’t understand is how Wenger manages to bing in young talent and nuture them so well into great players but this quality seems to have escaped Rafa. He’d much rather have Kuyt run around in circles for 90 minutes then try something different for a change. Does he not realise by now that what he’s been doing for the first half of this season hasn’t been working and it’s time for something new?

  19. If babel had 1 once of PASSION instead of walking around the pitch he would be a decent player, he has had the chances just never produced anything he is supposedly capable of so therefore comes on Twitter to complain about how unfair it all is. He should Knock on the managers door and ask why he is dropped not air dirty linen in public there are players in the Liverpool reserves and youth teams who are GREAT PROSPECTS also, but i don’t see them on twitter complaining about how the haven’t been given fair crack of the whip. No they just work hard and get on with it in the hope they can make 1st team squad, because it’s a Huge Privilege to play 4 LFC or any big club for that matter that point seems to have been lost with Babel. Were not only talking lacking PASSION but Guts and Determination ie:

@virtualaj @RyanBabel you never played that great against reading could be the reason. show some passion and get you foot in!

“to get injured again? Ur crazy”

does that sound like he has passion for the cause football is a contact sport, he obviously doesn’t want to play for Rafa so sell him and be rid of his negativity, we need players to stick together during this bad spell not give the media more bullets to fire at the team. so next time he feels aggrieved i suggest he puts Half the effort into his CAREER as he does to His Twitter Account, after all he is on huge sums of money for all his hard work. BABEL is no better than a boil on the A*s*

STICK WITH RAFA It’s NOT HIS FAULT HE CAN ONLY SEND 11 MEN OVER THAT WHITE LINE WHAT THEY DO THEN IS BEYOND HIS CONTROL SO HE SENDS OUT PLAYERS HE THINKS WILL DO A JOB FOR THAT GAME BABEL IS NOT A PLAYER HE CAN TRUST, WHEN HE COMES ON TWITTER TO MOAN AND PASS BLAME AND JUST SHOWS NO COMMITMENT TO LFC.

  20. “STICK WITH RAFA It’s NOT HIS FAULT HE CAN ONLY SEND 11 MEN OVER THAT WHITE LINE WHAT THEY DO THEN IS BEYOND HIS CONTROL”

I’m sorry but did you see them team he put out today? He started with Carragher, Krygiakos, Aurelio, Skrtel, Insua, Degen. On top of that he had Mascherano and Lucas, now someone please tell me where the attacking flair in that line up is supposed to come from?

You’re right it is beyond his control what they do when they step onto the pitch but what IS his fault is the poor team selection. He’s left Aqualani, Reira and Rodriguez on the bench and Babel was left back in Liverpool. How does any of that makes sense when we’re desperate for a win an missing load of attacking players?

Regardless of how Babel has been treated or not Rafa’s team selection beggars belief sometimes.

  21. TeeJ

Aquilani was out for months with an injury, so to come back for a prolonged run in the side would have been hard. Especially after 120 mins against Reading.

Riera is only back from injury so to start him would have been a bad decision. Easing him back will help more than throwing him onto to the pitch against Stoke, who aren’t noted for playing nicely.

Rodriguez has not played too many games in Spain this season, so his match fitness would not be too sharp.

As for Babel. Well, I’m glad he was left in Liverpool. Can you play a player who won’t put his foot in? He has potential but his attitude is not right at all.

  22. eire –

Fair play mate very valid points on all fronts. I’m still amazed that Aquilani STILL isn’t match fit enough to play two matches in a row after nearly four months of recovery. It makes me question the point in spending £20mil on a player you’re not going to see for two thirds of the season.

As for Babel “no putting his foot in” and not having the right attitude people seem to forget it’s a two way street. Rafa has shown little or no faith in Babel this season and this is even more apparent during this current injury crisis. If Rafa actually gave the guy a run it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw an improvement in his commitment. Sorry to use Wenger as an example again but look at the faith he shows in his youngsters and flair players. Benayoun has been one of our best players this season and how many times has he been subbed off or dropped randomly for no apparent reason?

Don;t get me wrong I have utmost respect for Rafa and what he’s done for us but there’s no denying that he lacks something when it comes to man management.
