So now we can get the crazy stupid Americans out of the club, but now who should buy the club? Well obviously anyone who has money who cares about the sport, and the club. It also in my mind can’t be another American, after this group, it should be a long time before higher ups in the club can be from America. Too much damage has been done to the club for an American to take the club over.
Traits another Owner can’t have
1) Cluelessness – I get the feeling that H&G didn’t know what they were getting into. They could have followed the example of Randy Lerner at Aston Villa.
2) Have any scandal in their history – As naive as this sounds I don’t want an owner or owners that are bigger than the club. LFC doesn’t need to have someone who will bring disrepute to the sport. Liverpool isn’t bigger than the sport, but with the right owners it can be the 70’s and 80’s again.
3) Caught up the in the “Celebrity” of owning a football club – I don’t need to see the owner or know who the owner knows, dates, or what parties they go to. I just want someone to back the manager and get them back to what the sport needs.
Obviously, I want an owner with loads of money, since it would be great to have top players transferred in every window. I don’t want them to become like Man Crappy. To be able to get in players like Diego Costa or Sergio Aguero every three years would be great. Of course with a new owner would mean some of the squad fillers who wouldn’t cut would be gone.
I want the new owner to live by this “Return LFC to the Greatness it needs”
For me, it should be the fans, at least 25% of the club, ideally outright ownership. The chance to build a sustainable club with the ability to never let this happen again is here, and we should take it.
I hope that if we get someone rich then we dont just go buying players like Man city and Chelsea. A mix of world class players allied with investment in our youth will pay dividends. Players grown organically will have a more loyal aspect to their tenure and have a sense of the Liverpool tradition. Just look at Barca now and Man U in the 90’s and early 2000’s.
Someone loaded and with the good sense to sack Rafa and hire Mourinho or Rijjkard.
ideally a mega rich liverpool fan would buy the club with a consultative manner and a view to building the club into the most well run but huge club.
yes this is a dream but its what would be best, please lets not fool each other, its about money, and we need it but havent got it.
As liverpool need better players, we need to invest not cut costs, the fact we have already got the past glory and the fact we have earned our titlle as one of the worlds biggest and best clubs, i would not worry one bit if we could just splash the cash like tottenham have done, like chelsea have always done, and like city have done and will do again,.
give me a huge liverpool fan who wants to put money in but will also want to make some as this is business, but we want a businessmen to run the club as it should be run.
the better players you have on the pitch, the better the results, the better assets you have, the more the club is worth and so on. we need this type of investor, owner.
It would be a great thing if he was a liverpool fan, and i mean real mad liverpool fan, not a fake one, but we need 4 top class players and that we have never had the chance to do is to buy just more than one great player in one go, that needs to start happening NOW.

It will be a takeover from the Middle East or China with billions that pump a new stadium, clear off the debts and buy new players in the summer (Villa, Silva, Mata, Moutinho, Danny Miguel, Lahm, Di Maria, Maicon, Bruno Alves, Cissokho, Muntari, Torosidis, Jovanovic, Lucio, Milner, McGeady, Young, Van Der Vaart and others. We need to challenge major honours including the title.
We (LFC) need more than anything is stability and to allow the club to run in the right way with a mixture of investment in the first team squad and a blend of youth from the academy, and this will bring success to LFC in the years to come. There is also a huge amount of players in the current first team squad that are not fit to wear the liverpool jersey at present and need to be removed from the club immediately. We need players who want success and want to play for the pride of LFC.
I have been a huge fan of Benitez over the years but it is time he moved on, he has lost the plot in his tactics, team selection and team set-up. For me there is only one man to take over the club and that is Mourinho, and I’m sure he would consider it a massive challange to come to liverpool and win the league after 20 Years.

I obviously agree with most of you, the problem is no millionare ever played Football Manager, or was really interested in managing a football club, so they are most likely to be clueless.
no, i’m not suggesting that a person playing FM should know how to manage a team, but it does give you some insight into the game.
other than that, the academy&the stadium are the most important things to invest in today.
I honestly think we don’t need a lot of big money transfers in the summer.
Real Madrid would probably clear some of their players and we should jump on the opporunity getting VDV as he is pure class(and I think we shouldve got Robben or Sneider last year).
Eduardo from arsenal might be a good striking option if we want to get someone on the cheap, and the only 3 players I really think we should spend big money on in the world, and I would be happy if only one of them arrives are Silva, Villa & Aguero.
Turan is another favourite of mine, but I wouldn’t pay over the odds for him.
also left back Taiwo would be perfect to fit the bill, although playing Carra&Skrtel in the center of defence and Agger on the left is a very good optino IMO, while Kelly&Ayala are capable back ups.
Kelly & Pacheco should be introduced to the first team on a regular basis.
Dalle Valle should fight for the subs bench, and I honestly believe Babel, Riera, Soto, Ngog and Lucas have very little to look for in Liverpool and shouldn’t stay.
And as long as we don’t perform SG should drop deeper, as we play better football this way.

I do think people need to cool their heels, with thinking exciting thoughts of a rich Liverpool fan coming in. Don’t you think one would have bought it by now, if one was rich enough?
So it looks like we will be stuck with someone who will look on us as an investment, but they will be looking for return, and so we will be in debt to them, and still breaking the new EUFA planned rules about being fit for competition. So all we can hope for is that we get someone who will not saddle us with any debt, and free up our own money to pay for the stadium. Which won’t leave mega bucks for players for a few years.
