What is disturbing is this comment

“It would be problematic for Liverpool to find a top class replacement given that they cannot offer managerial candidates either a squad that is equipped for a title challenge or a substantial transfer package to tempt them. The situation is further complicated by the fact that the club is up for sale and the Liverpool board may not feel able to offer Benitez’s successor a long-term contract in case potential investors are not impressed by their choice. That could mean a temporary manger is the only viable solution, at least until a buyer is found.”

It is exactly what most of us feared.

  1. Only Hiddick would be an option for adecent temp manager who can get the best out of what he’s got. What’s he’s got come August, however, could be a lot less than we have now.

  2. king kenny is not too bad or if not king kenny get a modern day shankly – ian holloway – he does not need mega bucks – and he is a people person – kop would love him

  3. Let’s Bring in Steve Heighway and king Kenny as temp. :D

Yanks always causing distress for people where ever they go, should put sanction on USA Citizen ”NOT ALLOWED OUTSIDE USA!!”

    somthing betweens those lines anyway

  4. This is a joke! At the end of the day even people aren’t keen on Rafa, this club is in a shambles and only stability can sort that, what kind of manager is going to want to come to Liverpool at the moment, owners selling up talk of players leaving every five minutes, they can’t give him a few quid to get decent players but can offer him a severance package. I’m beyond angry with this now, the club is going to become the laughing stock of top flight football soon, we are already at the stage of fighting for players with the lower table teams as we can afford the big money stars!

Again it doesn’t matter if you think Rafa is part of the solution or problem with this the yanks need to fuck right off!

  5. im a bit disappointed if this is true. The man had a plan that that would have taken a broke club above their status. In fact he had already achieved this. I didn’t like the style of play or players he bought but he kept us competitive and in the hunt in the most cash hungry league in the world.

Who would I like as a replacement? anyone ho will give amoo, pacheco, eccleston and ince some regular footy. The bright side is this could see the return of flowing football at anfield.

  6. who says holloway would not last 5 minutes – the same geniuses that made Blackpool certs to go down last year. Why does it always have to be a BIG name manager – Clough was nothing when he took over Derby.

  7. @Ray.

to handle an ego like Gerrard’s the manager must be BIG. Bigger than big infact. I’m typing this looking at Gerrards hope tshirt to the right thinking this sulky whiner has played his part in costing Rafa his job. I really hope he goes.

It was all hands to the pump last season apart from that crying little spoilt baby. I’ll never forget his poor body language last season. Its time he went

  8. Laurent Blanc is the favorite to take over as a temp manager similar to Guus at Chelsea last season. Would be a blessing to have him at the club.

Kenny was a shit manager back in the day, I don’t want him to take over again. People need to rid that thought right out of their minds.

  9. Yanks, get the phuck out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You thought you were as rich as the Russian or the Saudi’s but its just not happening. Get the phuck out……

And now Rafa, im ok with you going….I will not forgive you for replacing Xabi the best midfielder in the world next to Stevie with the biggest twat in the world Lucas…..who im sure will not even get a sniff of the first team with any incoming coach…..

See you Rafa and take Lucas with you……

YNWA, lets start fresh, i may say that this coming season will be a tough one to watch….but it will good in the long run…..get out Yanks!!!!

  10. Dude, I’m almost crying here, we are in crysis and people came here to talk about Lucas?
    =/

  11. does anyone else feel the club is 10 times more unstable than it was with Rafa in charge????

The youth set up is gonna be affected. The first team is gonna be fucked. The new manager is gonna be some fucking rent boy for the fucking cowboys!

No manager will take over now: The owners don’t know if they are coming or going; the bloke in charge of helping our financial future is a fucking chelsea twat; there is NO fucking money for new transfers. We went from competing with Spurs for players last summer to West Ham or Burnley as recently as today.

    @theycallmemrurt,
Honestly, I agree with you bout Stevie. A captain is supposed to motivate and lead. Yes, he is allowed one poor season out of the many good ones he’s given us, but his body language pissed me off big time. Reckon we’ll get 35mil for the lad but fuck knows how much of that will be recycled into the team.

  12. maurice, if u r so in love with xabi..go support real madrid..lucas is not xabi replacement, the replacement was injured for the most part of last season..yah let’s start afresh, with u supporting a team in spain..

  13. Well i for one am happy. This season RaFA was very very poor, even Gerrard was left scratching his head at some desicions.
Scared out of my mind that we cant afford a decent new manager or players though.
We all agree Bevis and Butt Head out. Cool…
