What the LFC supporters should do during the current renaissance.

Posted by

First of all, if kenny daglish takes the job, it is not guaranteed 3points for all the games right?
and if, roy stays for the job, and again, it is not guaranteed 3points for all the games right?
n lets say, jose mourinho or pep guardiola takes lfc job or stays at their current club,  it is still not guaranteed 3points for all the games right?

For king kenny, he was out of this game far too long, i guess reason why the board took roy is mainly because he is still in this game..

But yet, Roy was a fool yesterday. like, seriously. i dont get it, why would he wanted lfc to play long ball. Even an amateur like me who plays football manager everyday would know that strategy/tactics wouldnt even draw the game.

But guys, let us be realistic. there is nothing we could do except for hoping. NESV and most players backs him up. There is no such way to fire him before the end of the season. We are in the re-building, the renaissance state. So what us, as the LFC supporter should do during this renaissance state?

The best for us is to win remaining games before january transfer window and attract other new players and sell players that not needed by the club. Let say if Roy is sacked in near future, we might going to establish another renaissance and that would take a longer time.

THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING..

Roy’s lfc hasnt winning because he dont have the players that he could work with, and he needs to buy new players that would suit his style of play..

Think positive guys, talking shit n nonsense on him would do anything good..

Since when during rafa days we scored headers in set-pieces?

We are getting stronger and stronger each day..

Yes, Roy has some tactical issues that he needs to buckle up. But hey, come on. He is just a few months old in LFC.
Rafa’s first season in EPL wasnt too good. But he lifted us up and shook the world by winning the UEFA CHAMPS LEAGUE.

This might happen in Roy’s days too, which we could win the europa league.

Please, by sacking him, would only do more damage and put LFC as low as real madrid’s and man city’s system, which they dont get patience and expects to win title in a night..

Keep faith lads.

  1. im sorry.
    May I know why?

p/s : this is just an opinion. I am too traumatized with the previous ownership/boardroom problem. And now, this has over, i dont want another problem. If King Kenny comes, then i dont mind. Im sorry again. :)

  2. no offence, salahuddin, but I think the point is that Roy’s tactics are not just long-ball, but highly negative. Under Rafa we would press high up the field and actively hunt down the ball. Now, we’re dropping deep in our own half and Torres might as well be playing hide and seek up front. Sure, that might work when you’re a mid-table side and trying to grind out a result, but we’re supposed to be better than that. We want to win games, not draw them. And even now we’re getting outclassed by Stoke, whose main offensive weapon is throw-ins. Roy said that we should “judge (him) after 10 games”. Well, he’s been judged, and found wanting.

  3. Of course this article proves that I allow different opinions on EOTK. I disagree with Salahuddin, Roy inherited a great squad he chose to ship Insua, Aquilani, Della Valle etc.

  4. there’s no such thing that Roy has improved, even the minor things. and he didn’t even take the good from Rafa’s regime. even worse, this current manager has taken the life out of the team.

and me, personally, never believe in him since the day one he joined. he’s not our standards never have and never will.

sick and tired of saying ‘sack him, etc etc’…i hope Roy understands…

  5. i wouldnt give hodgson a single penny to spend on players like poulson and koncesky anyways he was brought in by owners with no ambition for the club..time the new owners brought in a manager to match theres…before its to late were that far adrift..we wont get anywere near top 4..what hope ye got then another year with no champions leauge

  6. Respect your right to your opinion Salahuddin. Really can’t agree though. Hodgson came in and immediately took what talent we had and replaced them with medicore players. If anything he is wittling down the squad to players with little creativity/imagination. Further more he has alienated some of our more skillful players in Agger and Johnson. He persists in fitting “square pegs in round holes”. We play with fear in EVERY game. . . and the oppostion can smell blood in the water.
As we slip further and further into decline and stand to lose our star players, at what point do we acknowledge that Roy has had his shot and put an end to the misery?

  7. I’m sorry, but I don’t agree with this one bit.

“Yes, Roy has some tactical issues that he needs to buckle up. But hey, come on. He is just a few months old in LFC.”

He’s used those tactics throughout his career, and has said he is happy with them. He will carry on using that. We will defend deep and invite pressure. We will end up like Fulham.

“Since when during rafa days we scored headers in set-pieces?”
Are you kidding? In Rafa days we scored, with Roy we don’t. We got goals from set pieces (Stoke last year, for example) with Rafa, and we got goals from elsewhere. We don’t get many goals with Roy.

“Roy’s lfc hasnt winning because he dont have the players that he could work with, and he needs to buy new players that would suit his style of play..”
He bought Konchesky and Poulsen. They suit his style of play and have been awful.
The squad he inherited was not a mid-table squad.

As you said, we are not guaranteed 3 points from every game with Roy or Kenny, but it’s obviously not working with Roy, so why not give Kenny a go now. Roy’s been a disaster.

  8. I agree, but while there are players who backs him up, there are nice players such Glen Johnson and Agger sidelined by Roy. Such players are reported to leave in January, and I’d do that as well, even in Liverpool.

  9. Here is my opinion on Roy…
Take it or leave it, Don’t slate me for it…

What Roy did for Fulham is fantastic.. Getting them to the final in the manner he did.. Massive props…

NOW, does that qualify him to manage the biggest and best club in the UK? NO!
It does qualify him to manage mid/lower table teams who with limited funds are trying to compete. And, in no doubt he is a very talented manager in situations like that.

When I look at the work he has done to date(and I took his advise and judged him after 10 games) I feel very upset.
How could the best team in England and in my opinion the world by run into such shambles?

How after playing.. Stoke, Wigan, Everton, Blackpool, Sunderland and Birmingham only manage to mass 3 points?

Yes, Rafa is to blame too. The countless millions he has spent only to gather a sub par team (Imagine Reina, Gerrard, Torres and Carra were injured together). But, Rafa is GONE!!! We cant continue to accuse him… but still, we do not have any depth in the squad nor do we have an width on the pitch.

It sickens me tho, to see the actual players on the pitch giving less then 50% of their effort.. With the average weekly wage almost £60K Any player in Any team giving less then 110% should be shot…

Imagine offering the opportunity to fans to play for Liverpool for FREE, they would do it in a hear beat… cause they LOVE their team, not just money…

So to combat this, I think we need a new manager NOW, not King Kenny.. he is out of the game too long…

Opinions on O’Neill or Ranieri (it was him who build chelsea)??

  10. man,

Are you mad? Buying players to suit the style? None of the best players in the world could play that way!! Benitez was tactically astitue but we appointed a manager who is the other end of the scale. Deep defending against much poorer sides.

when under Benitez did a much lower side completely play us off the park? More position, More shots on goals ect? My answer is never…. We always created alot of chances, and had a lot of the ball…. when we played the bigger teams we ground them down, hassling and hunting in packs when the opposing team had the ball. We were a crushing machine.

We are Liverpool… Historically Pass and move when we have the ball, Get it back as quick as possible when we dont. Benitez tried to emulate what previous successfull Liverpool teams done. He just got caught up in the crap with the previous owners.

Dont belive the crap about a poor squad. Our squad is maybe there or there abouts with spurs- maybe not in depth but because our ” World Class Players” are much better – I’d rate us on Par.

Roy needs to move on quickly. He has no balls.
Constantly playing players out of possition, Stevie cannot play in the Centre, Carra is not a right back, there are better players in our team for them possitions.

Raul is not a Right sideded midfielder either.

Yes the players need to take blame. But the majority of the blame must go with the management setup.

Stop Putting our team down. We are Liverpool.

    YNWA.

  11. Sorry, we should not allow Roy time to build a squad that plays his style of football, we don’t want his style of football.

A good manager should be able to come in and adapt tactics to suit the squad he inherits. If Roy only knows one way of playing, then he has proved that he isn’t a good manager.

  12. Thank for approving this article, Antoine.

Like i mentioned in the article, he might need different type of players that would suit his type of play. Everybody was puzzled why he sent Aquilani out. After thinking too much, and sarcasticly being postive, i thought of that, tt is too physical here, and that environment wasnt good for him to heal his ankle properly. Insua was shipped out as Konchesky were coming. Della Valle is awesome and there are still lot of other awesome youngster out there. And with new owners want to build up the academy, we might get benefits on that.

The point is, i am not ready for the boardroom hustle at the moment. I dont prefer to create another hustle by firing him, it is not good for our image and might emerge unstableness among the players. I am very happy and thankful enough that our key players would still be here after the ownership problems. Changing to a new manager, new tactics, new ideology, new benefits and lost, but our key players might lose their head and seek an exit door.

    YNWA lads.

This is just an opinion. Positive and negative comments are most welcomed. Discussion would create a better opinion.

    :)

  13. Man,

He obviously hasn’t got his point across yet? Were playing crap football. Were well into the season now. we should see something inspiring? But we dont? Therefore it’s not working..

It’s time for a change, a manager who doesnt listen to sky sports and has a pair or balls to change things. Drop players. world class or not.

  14. @mek = i beg to differ. A good manager, well i would say, jose mourinho, came to chelsea after claudio, he kinda changed the game and the tactics.

@danny = first of all, i am a fan of rafa. but every manager has their own ups and downs, and good/weaknesses. Unlike rafa, roy did notice something with krygiakos and used him.

@jonathan L = i agree with you totally mate. but long ball tactics were used is simply because LFC players were tired. Even many people agreed on that after we drew againts wigan. Just an easy way to get the ball to offense, but roy has failed on that.

Thanks for the comments, keep on posting.

    :)

  15. i dont agree either im afraid.
can hardly call it shaking the world if he wins the europa league,no offence, but playing in that competition is like been stuck in the carling cup for 6mths,
give him the chance to bring in players that fit into his system,no thanks if they are anything like the ones he has brought in so far, exactly what system does he operate anyway?,
get behind the ball, boot it up the pitch and hope for the best.
i dont know who shud be managing the team but somebody needs to have a word in the ear of the man who is and let him know that nobody wants to be subjected to that drool week in week out.
i respect peoples opinions but you really pushed the boat out by allowing that article.

  16. “Unlike rafa, roy did notice something with krygiakos and used him”

Kyrgiakos was hailed when he was given a run of games under Rafa last season, and scored when we played against Stoke at the Britannia last year.

Oh, and don’t forget IT WAS RAFA THAT SIGNED HIM. If Rafa didn’t ‘notice something’ then why would he have done that?

  17. krygiakos? Our goal difference is – 4 , Its November 14th.
krygiakos is 30 odd buddy. he dosent just become a great player over night.

He suits Roys game plan… Do nothing in open play and try nick something on set pieces. We are Liverpool,

Yes he utilises his strenghts but in turn weakens us by playing Gerard Deep, Caragher on the right, meirless right sided, Kuyt up top and Polsen in the team .

Thats one plus and five minus’s and a negative Manager.

    Dark Days

  18. we have a good squad but we lack depth. that’s for sure. the players showed they are different when playing ‘offensive’ football. we lack creativity with hodgson’s tactics. from the first whistle you can say what kind of game you are going to watch.

    about transfers …

poulsen – not good enough (in fact he’s always a substitute)
mereiles – pure class but HE is playing him out of position
konchesky – not good enough for first team football (so y loaning out insua and bring back aurelio when he is never fit?)
cole – a good player (why didnt he try to get van der vaart as well if we dont have a long squad? his price was a bargain)
wilson – never given a chance yet

(not his transfers i know but …

shelvey – playing an 18 year old out of his position … then he lacks confidence
jovanovic – why isn’t he giving him a chance? there were strange substitutions in wigan’s game and i felt liverpool were playing musical chairs – all players changing positions during the game

    questions:

    – what happened to pacheco? why isnt’ he given a fair chance?
    – why playing defensive football against mid-table teams?
    – why always saying ‘it’s a tough game so we’re happy to get a point … if we draw!

I’m sorry but i’m disappointed watching my beloved team. if glenn johnson was quoted well i agree with him that he is fed up with hodgson’s tactics!!!

LET’S KEEP TOGETHER GUYS …. YNWA … WE JUST HOPE AND PRAY THAT THE NEW OWNERS WILL LEAD US BACK TO WHERE WE DESERVE TO BE! (i’m sorry but i can’t see that with hodgson)

  19. I’m beginning to wish we still had Rafa.
We need Aquilani back asap. He’s playing a blinder here in Italy.
Mek – I agree with you.
We can’t guarantee 3 points with Kenny but he’s Liverpool through and through.
Patience isn’t an option at this level. Liverpool deserve better.
I have never in all the years I’ve been a fan of Liverpool (since I was born so that adds up), felt so disappointed, unenthusiastic and resigned to probably lose than I have this season.
COME ON we need change. New owners, new beginning, new results.

  20. I have to disagree as well

Its got nothing to do with not having the palyers he wants, the current squad should be at a much higher level than what they are playing at under roy regardless. As well as that, All of his signings in the summer, minus joe cole who still hasnt hit form, were awfull. And frankly i am dreading NESV giving him a lot of money in january as i cant trust him to spend it properly if he really thinks poulsen and meireles are worth 15 million.

i dont agree with Roy’s excuse about the players being tired either. Liverpool have been playing against world class opponents in the champions league for the previous 3 years before last season and not had a problem. Now all of a sudden a mid week game against the likes of wigan is too much this early on? Sorry i dont buy it atall

Get roy out now and lets try and repair the damage of this season

  21. I’m sick off hearing this crap about rebuilding its an excuse thats all, what needs rebuilding the team thats packed full off internationals, i could put out a team at Liverpool that would be better set up than what that idiot puts out we had a bad season last year thats it 1 terrible season the year before we nearly won the league and the team is not that much different. Dalglish might not win every game but he would instill passion and pride and the players would give him more because of the respect they would have for and can someone tell me why we sent aquilani to italy for a year and gave Jventus 5 mill for Poulsen and then sent a promising 21 year old left back out on loan to turkey and gave Fulham 5 mill for Konchesky he has to go and now he’s the biggest embarrassment in my 30 years of being a red and i watched Nicky Tanner play for us

  22. Inherited a great squad? mmm. Truth is that EOTK tends to be a Rafa tribute site to people that cant accept that it wasnt working out with him there. I’m not saying it’s any better now but the squad is a mixed bag. Rafa lost his way. He didnt strengthen where it was needed which was a shame because a few seasons ago we had title winning pedigree.

  23. Tim i’m not saying he inherited a great squad but its not a disastrous squad there is a decent team there and hodgson also weakened the squad by getting rid off 2 decent players and signing 2 very below average players in the same position and yes i’m a massive Rafa fan but if he was still manager and the team was playing this way he’d have to go and what nobody seems to mention is he had 3 years with the previous owners, and he spent a lot of time fighting for our club because he could see what they were doing to it if he was kept on and not sacked he would’ve succeeded in seeing off them twats and would’ve been able to get on with his job and also would like to point out 7th place is starting to look good now we’ve got this clown in charge

  24. roy is a small team manager,as proved when at inter milan, won nothing. he talks about rebuilding, yet he has a 2 year contract at Liverpool, how much rebuilding can you do in 2 years, and then another manager comes in and starts rebuilding yet again.at this rate we’ll never regain what is ours ’cause we’ll always be rebuilding, and personally i’m sick to the teeth of it.gonna annoy a lot of people here with this statement,in the last 20 years we’ve bought countless crap players, and sold anything that was remotely good.with exception of a couple of players, previous managers wont blood young players.it breaks my heart watching what is going on at Anfield.i know life changes, but what happened to the days when Liverpool bought one or two players and not six players to improve the team.I’m ranting and really annoyed but this club means so much to me and it is breaking my heart seeing what is going on. RED 4EVER

  25. Sorry but I disagree. I know that we won’t have 3 points guaranted no matter who manage us but I know FOR SURE that we won’t have them any way if Hodgson keeps the job!

He says we don’t have creativity: he loaned Aquilani & Insua and doesn’t let a ‘going foward’ full-back play.
He only thinks on defending (he told that we need a defender in january. I think we need a striker to help Nando and some creative midfielder, a good LB would be welcome too).
He asks more form Nando but how can the lad get his job done if our midfield doesn’t deliver him good balls?

And things will only get worse: Lucas will be out for a round. Can you imagine our midfield “Poulsen-dependent”?

I want Hodgson out now because I know he’ll take us nowhere but a place we all don’t want to be led to!
And I want him out now before Agger, Johnson, Torres, Reina, Kuyt and who else more leaves!

I love Liverpool and I don’t want to see this belove team of mine shred in pieces because a speaking-gifted monkey was given the manager’s job!

PS: This is nothing personal and I have nothing against Hodgson (he may be a good lad) but I just think that he’s no good as a manager! Or why would Fulham dump him?
Oh dear, just realized I was born a day before him (not the same year tho ;) ).

  26. Lets be honest our home form is ok, away form, total rubbish since jan. We are far too negative.
i dont like Roys comments about stoke being a tough game, thats crap. Tough games for liverpool should be chelsea, man u etc not stoke!!

And as for Glen Johnston! seriously sort it out!

  27. Get back aqui!!!! play him with meireles in the mid, push up Gerrard and send LUCAS packing out of here. 3 years of this child, who has a run of 2 good games and now people should respect him. Atrocious game by Leiva yesterday.

And in January go for Alexis Sanchez. Hottest prospect out there.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY9FoCNlSsM

Have Babel and Alexis running the wings.

    YNWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Don’t agree I’m afraid. Given more time and money we will degenerate further.
You said we are getting stronger – the only development I can see is us turning into more of a long ball term.
To claim Roy has no decent players at his disposal is preposterous. Count the number of internationals Rafa left behind.
In the transfer window the only good piece of business was Raul. He has shopped out our decent players and youth to fund the senseless buying of aged quality players; Konchesky and Poulsen.
You’re entitled to your opinion but I don’t agree with it.

  29. Personally i cannot see Hodgson sacked anytime soon, the new board are not gonna give this p rick 3 million to walk away,so unless he calls it time himself we are stuck with him.

  30. l thank everybody.this is my comment;henry need to sack roy,sam lee and get a new coach becos l believe h&g sign roy and l believe the player are not happy with roy style of play and agger complain people critise him nw lfc is nt playing good football only long ball waste to opponent infact roy and lee need to sack because of this reason, roy afraid of some player lik carr need to play 10 or 20 minute pls look at neville of man utd.2 pepe is the keeper that help lfc and as well blunder cost lose look at arsenal 1 _1 renia need to be change get keeper of ajax sketenburg.3poulsen lucas, babel and konchesky is not good as a play and inject new shoot ability player like lfc of b4 becos lfc midfield is not strong ever attack is very poor.last nesv need coach that ginger all this player, sack roy b4 transfer window open cos he wil mis manage ur money, get matin o neil or kenny dayli sh or both to manage the team.

  31. Thanks for all the comments guys!

@everybody ; just would like you guys to know that im not backing Roy or a fan of Roy, but just supporting. I would die happier if Roy is sacked by now. Yes, i would prefer Rafa now. With the current owners, Rafa’s tactic and methods would blossom!

There is a difference from the word backing and supporting. I support because he is our current Gaffer. If we are not giving him our support, who would give? He is the only manager we got here. Realistically and logically, I dont see our new boards going to sack him in the near future.

Come on lads, there is still 25games to be played and most of top 4 has a chance to drop points even at their own soil. We still have the chance.

Point is, new manager is what we strive for, but Roy is the only one we got here. So, let use him.

    =)

    YNWA.

    p/s = Chelsea lost yesterdayyyyy !! Weeehoooo.. :D

  32. Tho i am a Malaysian like you Salahuddin, I have to disagree with this article. We never played this bad or negative when Rafa was in charge. It is just not working with Roy. Sorry bro. Roy needs to go now before all his negativity (in tactics) and his lackadaisical(“tidak apa”)attitude after losing a game rubs in to the whole of LFC players. Remember when we lost to Blackpool..he said we played well but…

  33. Getting players to suit his style of play ?? LOL… He did buy poulsen / paul and look how they are faring !!

Also if he has his way, he will convert Torres to be the next heskey !!!

  34. In his first EPL’s 13 games Roy have 4 wins, 4 draws, 5 loses and got 16 points (-4).

    Now let’s compare this to our 4 previous managers on their first 13 EPL’s games;

    Rafa in 04/05 – 6 wins + 2 draws + 5 loses = 20 points (+6)
    Houllier 98/99 – 4 wins + 4 draws + 5 loses = 16 points (+3)
    Evans 94/95 – 8 wins + 2 draws + 3 loses = 26 points (+14)
    Souness 91/92 – 5 wins + 5 draws + 3 loses = 20 points (+3)

Hope now you know why most of us called Roy Hodgson as the worst Liverpool’s manager ever…

  35. he had almost whole summer maybe old owners were present but he had time for sure, but he wasted money on likes of poulsen and konchesky. we send masche to barca, and we didn’t use any money of it he said he was gonna use it on striker…

  36. Dammit Roy. We are not Fulham. We don’t play like Fulham and don’t need the type of players to keep us at mid table joy. I think you’re in over your head and your look during the Stoke game just confirmed it for the fans. Agger. I think one of the best players we have purchased I honestly believe is disillusioned. Now Johnson? I mean he’s more winger than right back but a top player wants out? I think you can’t count on Stevie and Torres pulling us out of the slipstream everytime and then pegging it down to strategy. They’re just world class players who can win a game on thier own but not for the whole season. There’s no battle plans and if there was it’s quite pathetic by the results so far. A one off win against Chelsea saw us grappling for a foothole and as expected we throw it all out in the next two games. The players are lost and we don’t know how to change the game to change the result. We the fans are looking at teams like Newcastle and are probably wishing we can play that king of game. Exciting, commited and fast. We are losing hope. We needed a manager to motivate the team we had. Not buy players to change the style. After the ownership crisis, that was all we needed. Keep the stars. Listen to them. And make them play as a LIVERPOOL team. Willing to die for the RED shirt. Not change it into a team that has zero understanding of the plan. I say a prayer before each game but I also realise that God only helps those who help themselves. and you are not helping us be the team that we should and could be. Torres, Stevie, Kuyt, Raul, Maxi, Jova, Ngog, Aquilani, Agger, Johnson, Carra, Soto, Skrtel. Reina, Pancheco, Ince, Spearing, Ecclestone, Della Valle, Sterling, Kelly, Shelvey….. That’s not a bad team to inherit seriously. You just had to build their confidence and play soccer. We are sick of rebuilding. We still have the same defence that was the stingiest just 2 seasons ago and many more before that. A strike force that scored for fun. Ok you had injuries and so the other teams. But a good manager makes the best of what he has. Moulds it and makes it stronger. A manager I had hoped for was Hiddink. To do exactly that. Not a MOANrinho who needs 500m everytime or another one who comes in and the first thing he says is it’ll take time to rebuild and hopes for patience. Please enough is enough. We want a Liverpool team. We have the core so how can anyone fail. We need to buy. But not the Koncheskys and what ever. If we can find then don’t buy. Save the cash and blood our youngsters. We want Arda Turans. If you can’t change it please do the right thing and leave before we lose the team.

  37. Yes having a new manager means longer time to get back to winning ways but is that not more reason to sack Roy sooner rather then later, and letting Roy stay till the summer is just a wast of money cos any new manager coming in will make changes to the team. Sooner we get a new manager the qucker we can get back to what we are all used to winning that is if the right man is found.
Also getting a new man in before January means 5 mouths for him to look at his team a plan what players he wants t bring in and sell on cos let’s face it not many players moving around in January so the new man will maybe add 1 or 2 player (sriker) and then in the summer he will know where he needs to add.

  38. Well, I don’t expect an instant cup, but I expect an instant, immediately, well passionate team. But that guy couldn’t do anything, he doesn’t have idea, management skill, etc.

He always urged his team “forward!” (like his gesture in Stoke) but he doesn’t know how to play forward. That’s a problem! And that’s why we need to bring manager who knows how to play attacking football, and he’s only inches away from us, Kenny Dalglish.

And if John W. Henry see this, please John, I really don’t want you to be end like Hicks & Gillet, please listen to the sound of fans. They’ve supporting LFC for most of their life, and you are just a new LFC fan. The fans and supporters know better than you.

  39. Feels like 0-3 down at half time again while I watch fans loose the faith. You shoulda stayed to see the second half …….

  40. massive comments.
i dont think i could answer all.

so i guess, we all want Roy to leave.

Im just too traumatized with the boardroom/owner problems and issues. Due to that, many of our key players are starting to get frustated as what the press are saying.

I dont want anything close to that happen again. If we could get a better manager, obviously I would be, like many of guys, cheering for it.

    =)

    YNWA.

    Thanks for replying this article.

I learnt more and more facts on LFC and getting closer to all the LFC fans around the world in here.

    :)

  41. In a nutshell – no matchgoing supporter wants Hodgson to stay. Paying £60 every week to watch the style of football he’s putting us through, that’s why we want him out.
