Time for a change

In any business employees that are poor performers should be dealt with
accordingly so why is it taking them so long to deal with Roy, his back room
staff and players that are not performing to the required standard?

This is lfc and it should be up there with the best not hovering mid table
giving such poor results every other week. I am under no illusions that True
success can not be bought an it takes time to build something sustainable but
surely the owners can see that roy is not a long term option for this club.

I understand an agree with the club wanting to buy young players an build but
I also believe that there are several players in this current squad namely
Stevie,Torres, Riena, Raul, Lucas, Johnson, Agger and Skitel to name a few that
we can build the team around not to mention Aqaulani and other youngsters on
loan and with the addition of a few young players with the right attitude an
understand the liverpool way and are willing to put their head down and work
for this club, as the great Shanks said”to play for this club you must be
willing to run through a brick wall”. I wonder if Roy will?

  1. Lucas lol,the worst player we have had for nearly 30 years, only shines when teams we are playing are rubbish,ie west ham and villa, against teams playing well he is utter rubbish, only looks to pass sideways or backwards or gives it away, and when he hasnt got the ball runs about like a headless chicken 90% of the time,i garentee with players like lucas our team will win ZERO,but do agree roy needs to go.

  2. we are building a young squad with a 63 year old man, also a man that I doubt any young foreign player would know. We need Rijkaard in, young players will be awarE of him through his time at Barca and can also attract current high Profile Players. If Liverpool want to build for the future then they need to get Rijkaard in within the next few weeks. I dont blame Roy and think its unfair for us fans to run him down as he inherited this team, we play better football than under Rafa, and Rafa had the luxury of having Torres and Gerrard in there prime, scoring almost at will.

  3. our squads about the 6th best in the league, im confident Roy can atleast deliver that position, we may get behind him and the team beacause he’s not going anywhere..

  4. ICKI…….Why the hell do your likes keep supporting a CRA**Y, imposter of a so called manager?, You wouln’t happen to be a manure supporter by any chance, eh?.

  5. Woy Hodgson is a mid-table manager, always has been and, always will be, so why the hell was he given the job, to manage Liverpool?.
I’ll tell you why, Purslow(Knows FA about football), Gerrard and Carragher, they all wanted an English manager, no matter how crappy he is!!!, that’s why.
So called senior players should, concentrate on playing, what they are paid huge salaries for, PLAYING FOOTBALL….nothing else…

  6. I think Roy’s attitude is not good for the club. His mid table mindset is clearly against the wishes of LFC. What we need a manager like Hiddink or Rijkaard or even Martin O’Neil for that matter who could take this club forward. They have stature to do things the “Liverpool way”. We need to build a cohesive team with the right blend of young and senoir professional players. But i would definitely love Roy to resign gracefully rather than hanging on to his post.

  7. The current unrest in the squad is down to some players still bitter about Rafa going ie Torres,Reina and the players who wanted Rafa Gone ie Stevie G and Jamie.

We need a strong Manager to bring these two camps together.Hodgson is not this man ie strict enough!

“we play better football than under Rafa…”

Don’t be ridiculous! The lowest league position we inhabited last year was 10th and we finished 7th (the highest league position we attained was , for which Rafa was rightly IMHO asked to move on. This season the highest placing Roy has achieved is 8th, with essentially THE SAME TEAM! The results do not lie. We just don’t play better football now. We have switched to a deeper and less effective man-marking system and relying on ‘longer passes’ (as noted here; http://yfrog.com/gzkkgdj) to the attacking players. That is NOT better football, however you look at it and it certainly isn’t how Liverpool Football Club play the game.

  9. Thank you Stockdam for the grammar lesson. It was a very good article but you missed that being too busy looking up mistakes. Your Grade 5 english teacher must be very proud.

  10. No Team in the league fears us anymore , What we need is the lads to get stuck in and show that they are PROUD to wear that RED shirt , and get back to winning ways Week in week out we as fans sit on the edge of our seats for 94 mins avg for a Game , Hoping for 3 points . When we finished in 2nd position 2008-2009 Season that was the best we played , Then we were feared , I remember Chelsea and Manure Utd Babck to Back wins , Arsenal Draws. Roy step up or down . Top 4 is far but a dream now

  11. YNWalkA- Why do I support the manager? Because he’s our manager! Results and performances have been improving, gradually! At the moment he’s certainly not up to standard, but given the whole season he may prove to have done a decent job, as good as Benitez last season when most (myself included) continued to support him. The fact Werner and Henry won’t be sacking him means we should do what our supporters do best, and get behind the team. We’re not exactly in an apocolyptic situation!
Judging by your 2nd comment and by immediately thinking I’m a utd supporter, your obviously not the most intelligent chap, so I don’t really no why i’ve bothered engaging in debate with you!
