Why learn say the Notts County way when they could be groomed on the Liverpool way. And then we go and splurge on money for another wonderkid. Isn’t playing them in the 1st team the best education ever? Fowler, Macca, Owen, Stevie, Carra… isn’t that the way? Just baffling. Yes we’ve extended Pacheco’s contract but is he playing? When? Count the number of red youngsters farmed out. I mean can’t they play a part in the team setup? What’s the point of a youth system if you…. ummm… don’t play the youths? Fantastic, must be great playing well for the old man … love it. Carried away much? Get him back as soon as possible? If you honestly think he would make an impact in the Prem you have absolutely no idea. Having him play in lower league football is catalyst to his development, maybe in 2 or 3 year he will be ready. I really hope so. I really do. Somehow nowadays nothing seems as it seems except for our roller coaster form and the gaffer’s scowling lost look. Loans spells like this can give a player confidence, can teach a player how to handle and approach playing games regularly and getting competitive football week in, week out. Once he’s had success at a club like Notts he can move up to the Championship, and then the Prem. Having a player on loan at a low end prem club can be such an advantage, you’re basically making that club stronger against opposition teams, but weaker against you (as you stick the clause in the contract which says they can’t play against you). Works especially well with goalkeepers, i.e Ben Foster.
