Bye Bye Nando

Posted by

So Fernando Torres is gone. I am disappointed yes, but he hasn’t wanted to play for us for such a long time now, so in one way I am glad to see the back of him, as why should we keep a player against his will.

We have now bought in two strikers in Suarez and Carroll. Suarez may be unproven in the premier league, but Carroll has been banging in the goals left, right and centre, and if he scores goals for us like he did for Newcastle when we met them earlier this season, then I will be one happy bunny.

There is no need for bitter recriminations against Torres. I certainly don’t harbour any, and I look forward to us meeting him in his new team this Sunday and us showing him what he is missing by not being a Liverpool player anymore.

Thanks for a great job, Fernando, but you are now yesterdays news. Luis and Andy are the way forward now for Liverpool FC.

  1. Who is torres sorry don’t know him he truly left us in the shit good job we signed two strikers who want to play for us let’s batter the chavs Sunday let’s hope torres pulls into his drive one day and see john terrys car in the drive ha ha

  2. Torres is a fool he just made the biggest mistake of his life.
welcome suarez and carroll a dream pairing cant wait to see yous take the premiership by storm.

  3. Torres was gunna be a Liverpool legend- i forgave the injuries, whinging but not this betrayel – take your attitude to Chelsea you sulky brat!!

  4. Can’t help but feel bitter. He could have waited until the summer, or even have left last after the World Cup. Submitting a last minute transfer request is just rank dishonorable.

He’ll never be welcome at Anfield again.

  5. THOUGHT HE WAS HONEST,I WAS FOOLED.THAT’S WHATS HACKED ME OFF.YES HE’S A GREAT PLAYER BUT HE’S A LESSER PERSON THAN I GAVE HIM CREDIT FOR

  6. Torres=Judas. He is worse than Owen– he went with an ageing team with no history but purely for the money. I hope he ends up like Owen regretting leaving us and with no trophies. I really believe that spending 35m on carroll shows the new owners will spend the cash having broken our transfer record twice in a day. In summer more players will be available for that money. We only need a couple of good wingers to provide the service.

  7. Sorry it has to be said. Torres duplicity given his apparently one sided relationship with the fans is disgusting. He will NEVER be welcome at Anfield, the fans have every right to despise him, and let’s be honest, a legend in the making has thrown it away for money and plastic passion. You may win silver Torres but you have no dignity or respect at Liverpool. Michael Owen the pressure’s off…..

  8. I agree, no need to be like our bitter neighbours. Goodbye Nando and all the best for the (not too imminent!!!) future. Would rather you’d gone abroad but at least you financed a cracking looking front two for us. Pity we didn’t pick up a winger but there’s always summer:-)

  9. Do you think Carroll plus 10m is a good trade for Torres? That’s what it all amounts too. Of all the Torres money, Liverpool now has 10m, plus Carroll.
If Newcastle had come to Liverpool a week ago and said “We’ll give you Carroll plus 10m for Torres”, they’d have been a laughing stock. And rightly so. Yet now, Liverpool has ACCEPTED the very same thing. Laughable and sad at the same time.

  10. No olvidemos lo que Fernando nos hiso soñar. Liverpool fans are an example to the world, i can´t believe the decision of Torres but i´m more impress with the reaction of the fans. We can´t forget that Fernando make us dream, make us fly. We need to show him the things that he gonna miss, lets sing this sunday the song again, Fernando Torres Liverpool number nine, maybe this weekend he will understand that the desicion that he made is gonna be the worst decision in his life.

  11. Such a event was inevitable Torred wanted to leave a longtime ago…thanks for the goals and good luck at Chelsea…..LFC…YNWA..so sad we let Babel go tho

  12. Not happy about Torres leaving and not impressed with our new owners who haven’t actually put their handsin their pockets. Torres and Babel fees pretty much cover Suarez and Carroll

  13. “There is no need for bitter recriminations against Torres.” Why not?!?! Tell me, why? He betrayed us. He has no honor. He pledged loyalty countless times and now turned his back to us. He once said in his book that he would NEVER play for any other EPL team in respect for Liverpool and its fans. Nice lie. Congratulations, Nando. You have thrown away your chances to become a true Kop Legend, but now you will just be remembered in history as just another good football striker who played for many clubs and didn’t achieve much at club level. Idiot.

  14. I can’t be quite so happy about this deal. what upsets me is that only 6 weeks ago, Torres was happy to play for Liverpool, happy to see out his contract. Then he does this to us 3 days before the window closes, leaving us no time for a sensible look at replacements.
If he had said, ‘I will wait until summer, but I will leave then’ I would have no problems.
I hope he has the same conspicuous success as Michael Owen.

  15. I agree, Torres has been looking for a way out since last season and as good as he is when he is on form, there is no point in having a player who doesnt want to be there. It is a privilage to wear the Liverpool jersey and Nando has obviously taken it for granted. Thanks for all the goals over the past 4 years but it is now time for someone else to step into the number 9 shirt and with Suarez and Carroll up front I think we will have a very good strike force. We have been lacking in goalscorers and Carroll and Suarez scored a combined 68 goals last season.
I reckon life after Nando wont be too bad and lets hope Luis bangs in the goals on Sunday. The only favour nando can do now is stop United from winning the league!

  16. And just look at this quote: “TORRES ON CHELSEA: ‘It’s every footballer’s dream to play for a big club and I can finally do that now'”. Who said that class is permanent? Next year he will be playing for Real Madrid. Mark my words.

  17. Kenny has brought back the old Liverpool way to the transfer dealings this week. As supporters, let’s make sure we follow his lead by respecting Torres for what he did whilst he was with us.
I am not happy with how Fernando has conducted himself in the last few days but I don’t want to hear any booing when we play Chelsea on Sunday. It is not the Liverpool way to disrespect former players. Peace.

  18. I think its good business for liverpool, nando hasn’t been that great since spains euro win and the two new signing’s will score more alot more combined than he could. I just hope now that chelsea can go on a good run and beat manure to the title.

  19. Sorry for the best supporters in England. We’re just sad all the fans of Atletico de Madrid. The two years I was at Anfield watching Atletico were very special. I hope the best for Liverpool, and best wishes from Madrid, and never will walk alone.

  20. Are you kidding? After what he said on the PLastic tv channel? He can fuck off. I hope Skittles breals his lgs and the prissy little twat never plays another game. He has not only broken our hearts, but tainted our memories with that statement, and he will never be welcome at Anfield again.

  21. I agree with Liandro, what he has done is personal, he has betrayed us. I would have wished him all the best if he went back to spain or at the end of the season…….and why chelski. I want nothing more than for liverpool to make 4th place and chelski 5th. This is my dream. Fernando Torres was my favourite player and i’m crushed that i’ll never see him play for liverpool at Anfield. Who else could have made a kop legend with limited silverwear…..he was much loved.

  22. @Liam: Well, Torres timing hasn’t exactly give us proper preparation isn’t it? Just 3 days before the windows close? That’s just criminal and selfish.

I think FSG is doing extremely well given the circumstances.

  23. His bitter comments on ctv have upset me. He could of been gracious but chose to have a snidy dig at LFC. What he doesn’t realistic without us he wouldnt be on the quote ” great player ” he is today. He came over as a sulky spooky brat.no wonder we let him go so easily

  24. — NO MORE TORRESS POST —
    Forgive and Forget

Going to Chelsea is what makes it so bad. He doesn’t have loyalty that we fort he did. Time to move on, we got to great strikers now not 1. King Kenny will work magic YNWA

  25. TORRES ON CHELSEA: “It’s every footballer’s dream to play for a big club and I can finally do that now”

  26. Shameful that people abusing Torres.
He wasn’t born and bread in the city of Liverpool, he came to win trophies in England, there was no team left around him.

Suarez had always wanted a move to Madrid or Barca, go read the archives, when he couldn’t get there he settled for England.

And you think Liverpool got Carrol & Suarez on their own, they got them BECAUSE the sold Torres and got the $$

    Silly fans.

  27. I too am disappointed in Torres. Supporting a club from the other side of the world is tough, and it’s tougher when one of your favourite players; a true red (supposedly) leaves and you know you’ll never see him in Red again.
I too think it’s a stupid move… but this Sunday, as someone said earlier, lets not boo him. Let’s sing for our players. Love and Passion victors over Hate and Distastefullness. The Chelsea fans will never learn to appreciate him, so once the dust is settled, after ninety minutes we should sing a slow chorus of the Torres song one last time. We may have let him leave with respect because we have class, but we will never respect him again.
    YNWA

  28. Still sinking in, can’t believe today!! Craziest day in my life, let’s go for Adam again in the Summer!!

  29. It’s been frantic, crazy, absorbing and draining to say the least. Gutted that Torres has gone. I feel like I’ve just lost a family member. Today, he has shown his class or the lack of it. Elated and relieved that Suarez and Carroll have signed. They are both exciting and talented prospects. They are terriers who will fight for every ball. Welcome aboard. Nothing definite on Adams and Ashley I believe. There could yet be. All in all, I congratulate Kenny and the team for keeping their honour, integrity and dignity intact throughout this trying episode. It’s the Liverpool way. It’s time to move on. Liverpool will move forward. YNWA! (m almost close to tears typing this) :'(

  30. The biggest insult that Nando could have thrown at Liverpool “It’s every footballer’s dream to play for a big club and I can finally do that now”. So he has been playing for a little club in the last few seasons has he?

  31. Torres says he always wanted to play for one of the big clubs in Europe and now he is Ha Ha..thats why he’s left the 5 times European Champions for the erm oh yeah never times European Champions.Like so many before him he’s sold his soul and now he’s telling Chelsea fans what they want to hear just like he told us the same. He might fool some of them but can he fool himself thats the question.Great player though..no use to us..his lack of effort disgraced the Liverpool shirt..the biggest loser was Roy Hodgson who took unfair critism for the poor results.

  32. The worst thing about this lump of living shit is the games he played feigning loyalty so he could get his ego trip when we sang his song. i’m glad the prissy little cunt has fucked off. Looking forward to seeing his pathetic pouty face this time next season when he’s still shit and the chavs still aren’t close to winning anything. How long till he starts wetting his pants over a move to Real? He’s a spineless cunt who’ll never escape the shadow of David Villa and won’t be remembered by anyone. You’re walking alone, Fernando.

  33. Nando u dont know what u have until u lose it. No hard feelings though cause THIS IS LIVERPOOL!!!! And we will return to the top

  34. I hope he Regrets wot hes done , in a few months time hel`l relises wot a twat hes been, he wont get the loyalty from there fans that we gave him ,
its the way he left that pisses me off just as were getting things together he does this , Nando your a great player but to shit on fans that idealised you, thats the lowest of the low , ok you wanted to move but WHY not in the summer , we would of respected you , for wot youve done for the club but not now .
how can you say there a bigger club look at our history your a fool Nando and will regret it

  35. He’s the new Michael Owen, let’s hope carra puts him out for 6 months on Sat! As for the Carroll signing, what a total waste of money! Panic buy if ever I saw one, he’s maybe worth 15mil, no pace, no class, no trickery, just a physical presence in the box, same player as Kevin Davies or Heskey. couldn’t be less enthusiastic. he’ll be sold summer 2012 to stoke for 6 mil. he’s currently crocked as well, and a trouble maker.

  36. @ Joe and others like him. Will you please forget the five times European Champions bit and concentrate on the future? Ajax and Benfica have also won the trophy multiple times, would anyone be desperate to play for them in 2011?

  37. I won’t wish Torres too much luck but no hard feelings. Good to see that most of us fans aren’t bitter or angry about this.. it’s not the Liverpool way.. We’ve got two excellent strikers and of coarse King Kenny is back..
I don’t think that picking up Adam and Young is too urgent.. Now that Meireles has hit some form..

  38. Andy Carroll is an up and coming player he will need all the support he can get for us……Kenny will bring the best out of him….We need fighters for our cause and I think he can do the job….Welcome Andy….YNWA

  39. cant wait till sunday to see that smile whiped off your face , youll deserve whats coming from the liverpool fans and hope youll be crying to come off !
