Double Danish Swoop for the Reds?

Posted by

With next summer promising to be an interesting one for the Reds in terms of the rebuilding process, there are two young candidates for which the Club is keeping an eye with a view to joining our ranks in what is hoped to be a new era of prestige for Liverpool Football Club.

Christian Dannemann Eriksen is a 19 year old attacking midfielder currently playing for Ajax Amsterdam for whom he signed in 2008 for a reported Euro 1 million. The young Dane was the youngest player in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It’s no secret that he is the target of half of Europe’s top elite and that in the Premier League he has aroused the interest of Arsenal and Spurs apart from the Reds. Hopefully, the young Dane will choose Liverpool as his destination in which to flourish from a young blossoming wonder-kid into a fully fledged international star.

Simon Thorup Kjær is a 21 year old central defender currently playing for Wolfsburg after coming to prominence after two seasons at Palermo in the Serie A. The blonde Dane has always claimed that Daniel Agger is his idol, and apart from being best friends they are also form a fantastic central defence partnership for Denmark. He is currently on Liverpool’s radar and Spurs are also taking an interest. In his case I think he would choose the Reds hands down due to Agger’s presence and because he will know what a fantastic tradition Liverpool have with Scandinavian players. He is also known to be particularly effective by scoring in set pieces.

Needless to say, the above two prospects will be amongst a host of other stars we will be associated with until the next transfer window. These two are young, proven, and in line with Damien Comolli’s philosophy of bringing in young players. These two however, would not come cheap, but one thing’s for sure, they would be a sure bet!

  1. Apologies for some mistakes in grammer. Had a long day and am not particularly alert this evening. :-)

  2. Bring them both here!!Agger,Eriksen,Kjaer!!only Bendtner is the other great dane player but he plays for Arsenal..sell that Poulsen please!!
    Reina
    Johnson/Kelly Carragher/Kjaer Agger/Skrtel Coentrao/Aurelio
    Lucas/new dm
    Gerrard/Eriksen Meireles/Joe Cole
    Gervinho/Kuyt Carroll/back up Suarez/P.Hernandez
i hear we are ready to bid 10 mil for Gervinho and he wants to come to Liverpool..also Ashley Young or Pablo Hernandez are being watched.Kjaer recently said that he would like to play at England and Eriksen is said to be a great talent..please make summer be tomorrow!!cant wait for players coming in.it will be the 1st summer transfer window for NESV and they seem to want to impress us.they’ve got money and they want to buy QUALITY.sell deadwood like Maxi,Poulsen,Ngog,Kyrgiakos,Jones,Konchesky,Jovanovic,Aquilani,El Zhar,Degen,Insua and lets create a squad for the future with high potential and talent..In NESV,Kenny and Comolli WE TRUST!!YNWA

  3. Steve easy now mate! FSG or NESV (whichever you prefer) will most certainly splash the cash. Furthermore there is good money to be made from players going out. Maxi might retained unless a really good offer comes in and he sees a better future playing opportunity. Aquilani is a big question mark: Juve are set not to pay the Euro 16 agreed price. He might be back, or he might stay on loan. Ultimately someone else might come in for him as he is not short of admirers.
I do hope however that Comolli will not be prone to bring in french speakers….not that I am against them, just that I want us to bring in the possible best.

  4. Sorry but for me we have to chop away the deadwood and bring back some cash to then add to the kitty that NESV know we have to have in order to continue to grow and go forward.
This list of player has to leave the club and in and in turn will help save resources and add more quality which is a must. – (the word “QUALITY”)

JOE COLE- TO MANY INURIES AND HIS WAGES ARE NOT HELPING AND WHAT HAS HE DONE,

JOVANOVIC- NOT GOING TO JUSTIFY WHY WE SHOULD SELL HIM.

    DEGEN- SAME AS ABOVE

INSUA- LOOKED OK FOR ABOUT 10 GAMES, BUT TO SLOW AND ALWAYS GETTING CAUGHT OUT OF POSITION AND FOR ME, WE MUST GET A PROVEN QUALITY STRONG QUICK LEFT BACK/ – WING BACK. SELL HIM

AQUILANI- SHOWED NO HEART AT ALL, HE GOT FIT AND AS SOON AS HE DID, HE WANTED OUT, HATE THAT TYPE OF PRE-MADONNA ATTITUDE, HAD ENOUGH OF THIS TWO MINUTE PLAYER WANTING OUT, SELL HIM AND USE THE CASH.

BRAD JONES- SILLY DEAL ANYWAY WHEN WE HAVE OTHER BRIGHT YOUNG KEEPERS HERE ALREADY,, SELL HIM AND HE IS 27 ANYWAY, BRING IN ANOTHER YOUNG KEEPER OR PLAY WHAT WE HAVE, MONEY COULD BE USED FOR ELSE WHERE.

EL ZHAR, PLESSIES, DARBY – JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH, SELL THEM.

REPLACE WITH 2 WINGERS, X1 CENTER HALF, X1 LEFT BACK AND X1 FRONTMAN- CREATIVE PLAYER.

    COENTRAO, LAVEZZI, TURAN, YOUNG, HUMMELS,

  5. We need to clear out all the dead wood we have at club 1st: 11 players who are average/mediocre not Liverpool quality/class players: Jones GK, Krygiakos CB, Koncheskey LB, Insua LB, POULSEN DM/CM, LUCAS CM/DM, M Rodriguez RW/LW/AM, J Cole AM/RW/LW, Jovanovic LW/RW/FD, D Ngog FD and D Kuyt RW/FD.

Dirk Kuyt is a loyal servant, hard worker, fighter but apart from work rate and getting stuck in and giving his all, he offers club not alot going forward as a winger or as a forward.

In the last 5 games our goals have come from Meireles, who is a centre midfielder/Attacking midfielder, not our forward or winger or attacking centre Midfielder.

Lucas has improved and has been getting better, but he’s average at best and will never be a world beater. He is shining as the competition for the defence midfield role at club is weak/poor. Poulsen, Lucas Or Spearing, spearing will be one for the future.

But when our team was doing well in Champions league and League, we had awesome defensive midfielders competing with one another to play for the club: Hamman, Sissoko,Alonso and Mascherano. 4 Class, tough, quality Defensive midfielders.
When we had them at club, we used to dominate the centre of park and Gerrard would be able to roam and Terrorise Oppositions defences at will.

But now we do not have that quality, class, strength, toughness in the centre of the park.

And some major surgery is needed over the summer, in next few years. We need Nesv to back King kenny heavily like Levy has been backing Harry Redknapp at Tottenham for last two years and four months.

And Both Kjaer And Eriksen should be brought in summer, but eriksen should be loaned back to Ajax for next 2-3 years so he can develop more there, then when we get him he will be ready for premier league and we would have signed him at 10m , whilst in 3yrs time he could be worth £20-£30M.

  6. Kjaer, who has done what, everytime i have seen him he is big time well over rated.

    I forgott to add; poulsen, konchesky to the above list of mine;

you then state that eriksen should then be loaned back for another 2- 3 years, are you drunk? if he isnt ready for liverpool when you buy him why would we wait for another 3 years for him to be ready, what a waist of investment.

    its players like this that we need;

turan, srna, coentrao, young, lavezzi, cahill, hummels, marin, hernandez, hazard, eva banega etc.

  7. @samuel charles: Know the difference between “to” and “too”. Pre-madonna? Wow… your vocabulary is out of this world!

  8. BRING ON PER MERTESACKER ,GARY CAHILL,JOSE ENRIQUE,ASLEY YOUNG,LAVEZZI,HAZARD,ERIKSEN,GERVINO,PAYET,ADAMS,BENZEMA,ROMELU LUKAKU AND Balazs Dzsudzsak

    OUT . KONCHESKY,JOVANOVIC,AURELIO,JONES,KYRGIAKOS,MAXI,CARRAGHER,KUYT,
    NGOG,POULSEN,DARBY,DEGEN,EL ZHAR,MAVINGA

  9. There is a lot of excitment at the moment over what will happen in the summer and while Kjaer is a good prospect he hasn’t quite become the player he is meant to be yet. Of course this could well be down to a bad move, the move to Wolfsburg was strange considering the cluba supposedly chasing him last summer. He is a Liverpool fan and a move to Anfield could well work out. As for Eriksen, how good did he look against England? Well it’s no good judging a player over one or two games I’d be very intrested, however he has supposedly said he wants to stay another year with Ajax but thre is nothing to stop us talking to Ajax to try and do a deal well before summer 2012 for him to come in the summer of 2012 if not sooner. There is also a need to rid ourselves of the surplus players. In my view we need over the next 18 months 2 new centre backs (Wilson or Ayala may reduce this to one), at least one left back (will Fabio still be around given his injury history) 2 left sided midfield players (ideally you could get a fast attack minded full back who could easily play left mid), 1 right sided midfielder player a defensive midfielder and a striker. So thats 8 players we need although hopefully the youth team/ressies will provide a couple we are still talking in the region of £100 million. Who do we flog? Well again over 18 months I’d sell/release Soto, Skrtel, Konchesky, Poulsen, Spearing (if we can met the quota without him), Jovanovic, and Maxi. If decent offers came in I’d add Jones, Joe Cole and possibly N’Gog unless he improves quickly. As for those out on loan the only two I could see getting near our squad is Aqualini (again I’d take £12 million given his injury record) and possibly Insua (I’d take £5 million if we make the quota, remember he’s English under the quota ruling). It will probably take us 2-3 years to be in with a chance for challenging for the title such was the wreckage left by hicks and gillett

  10. Guys, the article was meant to judge the two prospects in question: Erisken and Kjaer.
All contributions and comments are welcome. Some of you, perhaps rightly so, have chopped off most of the first team squad. The scope here is to start picking the right replacements.
Those that have commented negatively about Kjaer I’m afraid are a bit lacking in football knowledge. The young Dane is one of the best centre backs in Europe and is very highly rated.

  11. @samuel charles: Do you know anything about football, Kjaer is an exciting, talented centre back who Chelsea also were interested in before they spent £24M on Luis.

Kjaer is a very good centre back and is just 21. If the club are looking to invest in good, young, class players with the potential to being world class players in future now for Club, then he would be a great addition to the club.

He’s better than Krygiakos and Carragher has a year or two left at best if that, so Kjaer would be great addition.

And so would Eriksen,But Eriksen still needs Two more years to get his strength up and to keep developing at Ajax.

Eriksen is 19, buying him for £8-£10m now and loaning him to Ajax for two more years so he can keep developing is a wise move.

As he is a Danish international already, he is young, quality, class, has bags of potential and if we bought him now for £8-£10M.

And he keeps developing well, then in two years time i am sure he will be worth £20-£30M, but by then he would have been signed. And we would not be forced into bidding war with the likes of Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham if we buy him in the summer but let him stay at loan Ajax.

And then he would come to club at 21yrs of age, developed and ready to feed and supply Carroll and Suarez.

As Eriksen could be as influential as Iniesta, Nasri, Valbuena and Ozil playing as an attacking midfielder for Our club in a couple of years time.
