Kenny did a fantastic job at bringing everyone together for the cause and brought stability to the club at a desperate time. Nobody else could have done the job he has done. Kenny can hold his head up high and I hope he remains with the club in some capacity.
Now it is time for someone to come in and take us further.
Kenny can leave with dignity, there will be many shortsighted fans who will go against what they have done, even if they are only in it for the money the best way for them to succeed is to take Liverpool back to where we belong, the greatest club in the premier league and in europe.

I admit I would’ve liked Kenny to stay on for another year, but let’s be honest, if Kenny was anyone except himself, he would’ve been let go back in December. Sure, a Carling Cup, and an FA Cup Final were good, but 8th in the League is nowhere near good enough. FSG always had themselves back into a corner when they appointed Kenny, because if the results weren’t good enough, they’d be vilified for sacking him, or if Kenny resigned, it would still be FSG’s fault for “Forcing him out”.
FSG aren’t schmucks. They have a plan, and would’ve given Kenny more time if there was even a gradual improvement on the previous season. We slipped from 7th to 8th, and many performances have been too far below Liverpool’s quality. Yes, some of this is the players fault, but how many times have people criticsed Kenny and Steve Clarke’s tactics this season. Everybody associated with Liverpool wants Champions League football but according to Ray Houghton : “They[FSG} don’t care about trophies, only money, and they sacked Kenny because he didn’t achieve Champions League football”. That’s the whole point in the PL isn’t it? To either finish Top, in the Top 4, or survive relegation. We had our worst points tally in decades, finished below Everton, and had some baffling results.
I’ve heard people say “FSG have sent a message to other managers, saying ‘Get CL football, or your sacked”. That’s wrong. They’re saying 8th Place isn’t good enough.
Before I sign this off, I’d like to say that while it might appear that I’m not Kenny’s greatest fan, this is not the case. I love Kenny. I respect him endlessly. As a player, and as a manager. Nobody can take away from the fact that he IS Liverpool, but we, as Liverpool fans, tend to let our hearts rule our heads. I am upset to see Kenny leave, but I can understand the decision to do so.

The fact that the blue shite finished 4 points above us and spent sweet F all was the ultimate nail in the coffin for me. FSG just couldn’t trust KK with the next part of the strategy or their money. We must have faith and give the owners more time to implement the strategy.. (including the selection of the next manager.. Pep and Txiki would be great thank you very much or failing that klopp and his scouting team) Although if we don’t have progress on the stadium front this time next year I’ll start to doubt fenway’s ability to deliver anything at all.
