Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones has today signed a contract extension with the club. The Australian, 30, has joined teammates Luis Suarez, Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Suso and Jonjo Shelvey in committing to the Reds following manager Brendan Rodgers’ arrival in the summer. Jones, who has made 10 appearances this season, including a 7 game spell in the absence of first choice keeper Pepe Reina through injury, expressed his pride and happiness to be signing a new contract with the club he supported as a boy:

“I’m happy – happy to stay on and happy that the club have been supportive with me and seen enough to want to keep me here longer.”

“I said when I signed here it was a dream come true. It was something I’d wanted as a young boy – and that hasn’t changed. I want to stay here as long as I can. At the minute, the club is on a progression and we’re improving a lot. It’s a good time to be here and I’m sure in the next couple of years, I’ll be part of a successful squad.”
