I think Bill’s answer is NO, and so is mine…Why pick up a player thats past his sell-by date? We need someone who will still be an asset to the club in 2 or 3 years, not just the next 2 or 3 months.
Take a look at some of the players Rob mentions. Although I’m not fully sold on Sturridge, and defo not at $80,000 a week, but perhaps all thats missing for him is a fresh start, and playing in front of the Anfield faithful?

Dont know about Bent. One player i would check out is Scott Sinclair he has been told he can leave Man City but he wants to stay in the north. Rodgers knows all about him from his Swansea days good left side winger. City just want back their £6 million. I would take a chance on Sturridge as well can play anywhere in a forward 3. Gomis is another i would check out Lyon have money trouble and they would take £8 million for him. Hes good in the air, very strong and pacy. Luiz Adriano from Shakhta, Patrick Helmes from Wolfeburg, Burak Yilmaz Galatasaray and Jose Callejon are all worth looking at.
Good point. Quality is available, you just have to look. I have never made my mind up about Rodgers, I think like most fans. But january is when I will judge him on whether he is good enough for us.
Do we have a scouting system or do FSG just use a Panini sticker-book album to look at players? :)
darren bent…………cant get a game for villa. surely liverpool can attact better than the names being banded about just now……….then again we have a mediocre manager and he will attract mediocre players. positive excuses are getting boring its results we need. earn your money and get some quality at the club or luis will do a torres and piss off to another club. we had the manager in place and mr ayre, purslow, parry & broughton chased him away…………….IDIOTS.
