Aidy Ward breaks silence, and Brendan Rodgers won’t be happy

Raheem Sterling’s horrible agent Aidy Ward has finally had his say following the multiple stories that emerged regarding his client yesterday.

First it broke on Tuesday that Sterling had told Liverpool he is refusing to travel on the pre-season tour to Australia and the Far East (via Guardian), before the player called in sick on Wednesday (via Echo) – much to the utter dismay of the footballing world.

Premier League star has ditched Aidy Ward following Raheem Sterling debacle

Ward has been sacked by West Brom forward Saido Berahino as a result of the debacle, but when asked about it, decided to fire another dig at our manager as well.

“I’m no longer working with Saido. You’ll have to ask him for the reasons. With Raheem, there has been a breakdown in trust between him and Brendan Rodgers,” he said, reported in the Daily Mail.

Remember, Rodgers is the man who decided to make Sterling a first-team regular, and has overseen his development wonderfully. He even gave the England international a mid-season holiday to Jamaica to conserve the player’s energy, while his team-mates continued playing fixtures during the difficult period at the start of the year.

Time and time again Rodgers has reiterated Liverpool’s desire to keep Sterling in the press, and we find these latest quotes from Ward nothing short of disrespectful – and view them as a clear attempt to speed up the rumoured move to Manchester City (via Mirror).

For £50m, they can have him.
