Where are they now? 15 forgotten Liverpool keepers, with Martin Hansen, Padelli, Arphexad, Luzi & more!

Patrice Luzi (2002-2005)

As records go, Luzi’s for Liverpool was pretty good. He played only once, against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a game which Liverpool won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Bruno Cheyrou. His later career took him through Belgium and back to France, his nation of birth, but he has been without a club since 2010. He’s still only 35.

David Martin (2006-2010)

Martin started his career with Wimbledon before coming to prominence following the club’s name-change and the creation of MK Dons. Liverpool loaned him out on five occasions, having signed him 2006, but he was never able to make the grade with us. Instead, he returned to Milton Keynes and now plays for the club in the Championship.

Yusuf Mersin (2011-2014)

Signed from Millwall, the London-born keeper failed to make much of an impression at Anfield. With Tyrell Belford and Danny Ward dominating the Under-21 set-up, and Ryan Fulton the undisputed first-choice for the Under-21s, chances were few and far between. He’s now on the books of Turkish club Kasimpasa.
