Liverpool have contacted both Ancelotti & Klopp [Sky Sports], but German will fly in for talks this week [BBC Sport]

It looks increasingly like Jurgen Klopp will be Liverpool’s next manager, hopefully in place for our next match – after the international break against Tottenham.

Sky Sports understand that we’ve contacted representatives of both Carlo Ancelotti and the former Borussia Dortmund boss already, with both managers currently out of work. The report confirms that Klopp is desperate for a Premier League job, so although Ancelotti is in the running – all signs point to the German.

Ben Smith from the BBC claims that Liverpool want to speak with Klopp this week, and if he wants the job as much as we want him – it shouldn’t be too difficult a conversation.

The official BBC Sport website is confident that he’s first-choice, too.

Bundesliga journalist and ex-Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft reckons it’s nailed on, while Merseyside correspondent Chris Bascombe backs up the BBC’s story that Liverpool will speak directly with the 48-year-old shortly.

Providing FSG offer Klopp appropriate terms, which they surely will, it looks like he’ll be in charge before our next fixture.

Exciting stuff, Reds.
