Crazy Dortmund transfer stats show Klopp could be busy this January

During his first season in charge of Borussia Dortmund, ruthless Jurgen Klopp shipped out 17 players and signed 13 new ones.

In his second season he sold eight and signed 14. One season later he shipped out 12, signed 12 and won the Bundesliga title.

These stats are currently circling Twitter and have got Liverpool fans talking as we enter the January transfer window, our new manager’s first since taking over from Brendan Rodgers.

They belie the Klopp who joined Liverpool, who promised to work with the current batch of players (as cited here in the Telegraph).

Klopp made these comments to boost the morale of his players but also to stop the rut Liverpool have got into in which we overhaul the squad every summer.

Having seen the squad Brendan Rodgers created for a number of months though, Klopp may change his tune – and the Dortmund transfer stats show he won’t be afraid to do it should he see it necessary.

Liverpool have been dreadful versus Newcastle, Watford and West Ham in recent matches and the initial bubble Klopp blew up has burst. We need changes and improvements, in personal and performances. Potentially both.
