Liverpool recall Sheyi Ojo from Wolverhampton Wanderers loan to ease injury crisis

Liverpool have confirmed that Sheyi Ojo has been recalled from his loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 18-year-old forward scored three goals and supplied four assists in 19 appearances for Wolves.

That is a fair return for such a young lad experiencing Championship football for the first time, and so Jurgen Klopp may feel that he can use him to help ease the current injury crisis at Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi were already sidelined prior to Philippe Coutinho picking up a hamstring injury which will rule him out until February, according to BBC Sport.

Ojo has yet to make his senior debut for the Reds, but was taken on the summer tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia by Brendan Rodgers, and also scored in a pre-season friendly at Swindon Town.

He is quick and direct; a bit like Jordon Ibe, who is poised for a run in the team after his Capital One Cup goal against Stoke City on Tuesday. Ojo could step into his role as an impact substitute.

Our next game against Exeter City in the FA Cup third round seems like the perfect opportunity for Klopp to get a closer look at the teenager, who signed a long-term contract with us in August.
