Oh no!

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, has been taken down with appendicitis and will not be on the touchline for today’s match with Sunderland at Anfield today, confirms the Echo.

In his pace, Klopp’s no.2 Zeljko Buvac will take charge, but will be aided by Peter Krawietz, Pep Lijnders and goalkeeping coach John Achterberg.

There are no indications as to the seriousness of Klopp’s health issue, but early indications suggest Klopp will need an operation to remove the swollen gland which causes enormous pain.

His Liverpool side take on relegation threatened Sunderland at 3PM, but Klopp will be watching form the hospital bed.

As a result, he’ll miss the planned walkout on 77 minutes, which has been organised by fans as a protest at Liverpool increasing ticket prices.

Liverpool haven’t scored in our past three matches, including half an hour of Extra Time versus Stoke, and the team will be desperate to put in a good performance in the manager’s absence.

Here at Empire of the Kop, we wish him a speedy recovery.
