Liverpool traitor Raul Meireles is set to return to England this summer after Bournemouth agreed a deal for the player.

Meireles joined us back in the summer of 2010 as Roy Hodgson stupidly overhauled Rafa Benitez’s successful side.

He was arguably the only decent signing that the now-England manager made for us; though when his competition was the likes of Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen, Danny Wilson, and an aging Joe Cole, it’s wasn’t exactly hard.

After two games of the following season he signed a deal with Chelsea. The London club wanted a replacement for the injured Michael Essien and had failed in their bid to sign Spurs’ Luka Modric.

In September 2012 he signed for Fenerbahce, but according to the Express, the 33-year-old is now on the verge of sealing a free transfer to the Cherries.

He was injured most of last season, making just 11 Super Lig appearances.
