Ruben Neves is one of the brightest young midfielders in the Primeira Liga, and the Portuguese teenager is apparently on Jurgen Klopp’s radar, according to Diario de Noticia (via the Express).
Neves has been linked with some big clubs throughout his fledgling career, and this summer is no different. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is apparently trying to secure an exit from Porto ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, with the club looking to get at least £16.7m for the youngster.
The report suggests that Klopp is a huge admirer of the youngster, and could look to make a move for him this summer. We’ve been heavily linked with a number of midfielders already during this transfer window, with Piotr Zielinski and Mahmoud Dahoud seemingly our top targets (via the Echo), so Neves is the latest in a long line.
If deals for those two fall through – which seems very possible at this point – then perhaps we could move for Neves. Klopp obviously won’t want to sign too many players in the same position, but Neves could be an excellent option.

He’s arguably much more of a risk than either of the other two players we’ve been linked with, but if he realises his massive potential he’d be a superb signing.
