In one of the more ridiculous rumours we’ve heard so far, we’re once again being linked with Benfica’s Anderson Talisca, according to Portuguese publication O Jogo (via the Echo).
The midfielder is being tipped to make a £20m move to Anfield this summer, with the only stumbling block apparently being work permit issues. The story starts to unravel a bit when O Jogo claim if he can’t get a work permit to join us, then he’ll be sold to Wolves instead.
The jump from Premier League giants down to Championship strugglers would be a big one for the 22-year-old, and why he’d be choosing between just the two clubs is a bit of a mystery. It’s also a little strange that it would apparently be easier for him to get a work permit to join a Championship side than it would be to join us, but perhaps they know something we don’t.
Liverpool transfer news
We’re going to go ahead and call shenanigans on this one, as we really can’t see it happening. The links to Liverpool may have just been engineered by his agent Jorge Mendes in order to drive up the price, but whatever the truth we can’t see him coming to Anfield this summer.
