One of our favourite moments of the 2015/16 campaign was undeniably Liverpool’s 4-0 home battering of Merseyside ‘rivals’ Everton – who were about as poor a team as we saw at Anfield all season.
With the game dead and buried and the visitors down to ten men following Ramiro Fines Mori’s horrible tackle on Divock Origi, Liverpool put together a string of flicked, trick passes – with Alberto Moreno and Roberto Firmino showing off their skills.
The Spanish left-back then fizzed a beautiful pass infield to Lucas – who looked up – and dragged a miserable 30-yard shot wide of goal. Lucas hasn’t scored since 2010/11 so for him to attempt a blockbuster effort from distance after the excellent work which went beforehand was just brilliant.
