Tom Werner has said money is available for Klopp to spend, but it’s up to him whether or not to make use of it.
Some fans have become irate during the transfer window, with the imminent Benteke sale meaning we could actually end up making a profit this summer.
However, Werner has said that Klopp can invest, if he wants:
“He has the funds to [spend] and he has our support,” said the club chairman (via Echo).
“Jurgen is the first, most prominent and last voice when it comes to transfers.”
To be fair to Klopp and FSG, although the need for a new left-back is well-documented, we could end up buying one for a reasonable sum of money and still be in profit if the likes of Luis Alberto, Mario Balotelli, and Lazar Markovic are also sold.

But that’s not down to Klopp or FSG – rather – it’s symptomatic of how poorly we’ve spent and how much money we’ve wasted on deadwood in the time before Klopp’s arrival.
Even if we end up in profit this summer, we are certain it will be a one-off event.
