It’s not like Jose Mourinho to stoke the fires before a big game, is it?!
The irritating Portuguese coach has criticised Jurgen Klopp before tonight’s crunch Anfield clash, suggesting that our manager’s behaviour on the touchline is unacceptable.
This coming from the man who ran down the touchline at Old Trafford during his time at Porto and did a knee slide, by the way…
Klopp is extremely animated during matches, celebrating Liverpool’s goals passionately – but he never does so in a way that is antagonising for the opposition. He loves his job and cares about Liverpool greatly, but Mourinho intimated he doesn’t like it.
“I’m on the touchline to try to coach,” he told the Daily Mail. “I’m not on the touchline to …’ Instead of finishing his sentence, Mourinho started waving exaggeratedly, with a sarcastic look across his face.
We’d love nothing more than to see Klopp at his happiest, celebrating in as large and excited fashion as possible tonight.
A win would put us level top after eight games, a brilliant potential achievement considering the matches we’ve had to play early on.
The atmosphere is going to be tense, emotional and at times vitriolic, so it’s up to Liverpool’s players to channel Anfield’s noise positively. We cannot wait!
