Since his appointment at the helm of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been afraid to turn his attention to his homeland for transfers.
We’ve signed Joel Matip from Schalke, Loris Karius from Mainz and Ragnar Klavan from Augsburg, while we were close to agreeing a deal for Mario Gotze in the summer as well…
The boss recently claimed talks were already ongoing for summer transfers as well, so the Echo has drawn up a shortlist of potential arrivals from Germany
Here’s who they went for:
Julian Brandt – Bayer Leverkusen – Winger
Mahmoud Dahoud – Borussia Monchengladbach – Midfielder
Kevin Kampl – Bayer Leverkusen – Winger
Benjamin Henrichs – Bayer Leverkusen – Midfielder
Tin Jedvaj – Bayer Leverkusen – Defender
Leon Goretzka – Schalke – Midfielder
Max Meyer – Schalke – Midfielder
Sead Kolosinac – Schalke – Fullback
Julian Weigl – Dortmund – Midfielder
Emre Mor – Dortmund – Midfielder
Christian Pulisic – Dortmund – Playmaker
Ricardco Rodriguez – Wolfsburg – Fullback
Dniel Didavi – Wolfsburg – Playmaker
Timo Werner – RB Leipzig – Winger
Naby Keita – RB Leipzig – Midfielder
Marcel Sabitzer – RB Leipzig – Midfielder
Emil Forsberg – RB Leipzig – Playmaker
Bernd Leno – Bayer Leverkusen – Keeper
Timo Horn – Koln – Keeper
Marwin Hitz – Augsburg – Keeper
This is a long list of players and the reality is that some of these won’t have even been scouted by Liverpool, but we’ve decided to pick one from each position that we’d most like at Anfield.
Between the sticks, Leno is a top stopper who has Champions League experience. He currently backs up Manuel Neuer for the national team, with Barca’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen third choice.
At fullback we’d love Ricardo Rodriguez, the Swiss flyer who provides a fantastic offensive threat for Wolfsburg. It’s time he made a move to a bigger club.
Tin Jedvaj is a mighty promising teenage centre-back, while Naby Keita would be a terrific addition in central midfield. He reminds us a lot of N’golo Kante, actually.
On the flanks, Julian Brandt is definitely a target and is actually likely to join, while the Echo haven’t listed a striker as a possibility!
What about you, Reds? Who’d you like to see sign?
