Griezmann ‘will have conversation’ with LFC after Champions League qualification

Posted by

We’re really not sure if our former striker Dean Saunders has got his facts right, here!

The Welshman told LFCTV (cited in the Mirror) that one of the world’s best players Antoine Griezmann will speak with Liverpool this summer if he’s planning on leaving Atletico Madrid for the Premier League.

“I mentioned Griezmann and Liverpool will be on his list now,” Saunders said.

“He will have a conversation with them if he’s coming to England.”

The 25-year-old is a phenomenal, world-class talent – but it would require a world record fee to sign him – and Liverpool aren’t going to shell out £100m on one single player!

What’s more, we’re not sure if he’d want to come anyway, although the Champions League qualification definitely makes us a more attractive proposition to prospective targets…

Our win against Middlesbrough confirmed fourth spot, and you can be sure in the next few weeks that our plans for the transfer window will start to take shape.

Virgil Van Dijk is a key target, as is Red Bull Leipzig’s Naby Keita, and it’ll mighty interesting to see which attackers arrive.

We’d be very surprised if Griezmann was one of them, though!
