(Video) Liverpool store removes Philippe Coutinho image from shop window

Conventions of the 2017 summer transfer window now go as far as cryptic social media activity and the removal of player images from shop windows.

The latter is relevant on this occasion with one Red having captured footage of a Liverpool store taking down a cutout of Philippe Coutinho from the shop window.

This has inevitably fuelled added speculation linking the Brazilian to a move to Barcelona, following up his transfer request on Friday.

The likelihood is that is has absolutely nothing to do with a deal to take the No.10 to the Nou Camp, although the way the transfer window has panned out, Reds can’t be blamed for registering every minor detail with caution.

One reason behind it? The shop could well be replacing it with an image of the new shirt sporting the recently-added ‘Western Union’ sleeve sponsor. The second reason? The shop could simply be undergoing work.

The situation as it stands? Coutinho wants to move to Barcelona. Liverpool insist they will not sell Coutinho to Barcelona- for any price.

And so it continues…
