Barca’s fresh £100m Coutinho plans outlined- LFC must respond perfectly

Barcelona are ready to put Liverpool’s resolve to the test once again when the transfer window opens in January.

The Catalan giants were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the Brazilian during the summer, seeing all three of their bids instantly rejected by the Reds.

Coutinho’s transfer request also proved ineffective as the No.10 was forced to stay put and honour the lucrative five-year deal he signed in January.

In response to their failure, Barcelona are preparing to return with a bid of £100m for the playmaker in the winter, according to the Mirror’s Simon Mullock.

The same report also states that Coutinho himself is also willing to push for the move but that Liverpool will maintain their firm stance.

Owners Fenway Sports Group are unlikely to budge from their intentions to keep hold of the 25-year-old, having resisted a fee as high as £118million during the previous transfer window.

Despite making his desire to move to the Nou Camp clear, Coutinho has since performed admirably for Liverpool and shown no signs of playing with any distractions.

In the process, he has also reminded supporters of just how important it was to keep him this season, with his bright form partially carrying his team in a difficult period for the Red.

Klopp can’t afford to lose his star man half-way through what is already proving to be a gruelling season.
