Many Liverpool fans will remember when we were linked to Brazilian wonderkid Bernard a few years back…
He’d just turned 20, but was already starting in attacking midfield for his country…
In fact, he started matches at World Cup 2014, including the humiliating 7-1 semi-final defeat to Germany.
Now, Brazilian outlet UOL is claiming that along with Chelsea and Arsenal, we’re considering offering the 25-year-old a contract in six weeks’ time.
This is despite the fact Bernard hasn’t made a Brazil squad for three years and is regarded as having so far failed to fulfil his potential.
He currently plies his trade for Shakhtar Donetsk, who he joined ahead of Liverpool in summer 2013.
Last term, the tiny playmaker (he stands at 5ft.4″ tall) scored seven times in total from the left wing.
In truth, he wouldn’t improve our already blistering frontline and we assume the reports are bogus.
Liverpool, instead, will focus on the likes of Leon Goretzka and Jose Gimenez as potential Bosman signings.
The midfielder and centre-back, unlike Bernard, would improve our team and are surely being heavily considered by Klopp.
